The Interior Department has decided the Bureau of Land Management will no longer require industries to offset the damage they do to federal lands. Every single day, it's a new law to allow corporations to destroy the environment with the protection and approval of Trump to allow them to do it. If Utah wants to give up their federal lands, fine by me, but states should think carefully before they do because any damage done with not be compensated because of Trump and the GOP.
"The Interior Department has abandoned its legal and moral obligation to manage federal public lands for all Americans, both those of us living today and for those who follow in our footsteps. Its abdication of duty has become increasingly clear with each decision favoring industries that drill, mine, cut, and otherwise exploit the land to the detriment of everyone else. This week the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) cast aside any pretense to the contrary, issuing a new policy to shield industries profiting from the exploitation of natural resources on public lands from the responsibility to offset environmental harms they cause."
DEATH to all snail darters!
Another War; The War on The Environment. This one, unlike the war on women, war on drugs, trade war, Afghan War, War on ISIS, War on Terror, and War on Anthem Kneelers, will be totally successful.
Who would have figured?
I was just out in Montana on a paleontological dig. We're finding amazing fossils from over 100 million years ago on federally owned lands, with the permission of the BLM. And now I'm afraid this administration could just sell any of it to the highest bidder with no concern for the possible scientific consequences.
Or be severely curtailed to military and security reasons only. I agree with you, that land should go to the states.
