I have never understood prostitution:

Selling is legal.

Sex is legal.

Why is it illegal to sell SEX, when it is perfectly legal to give it away. That never made any sense to me.

Puritans would say you can't put a price on an act of love, which engaging in sex is. Therefore, it's immoral to name a price for a sex act. It should be viewed as priceless. So it's legal to give away free between adults.

Yeah, Puritans are kinda goofy that way. And that's fine with me. Diversity of thought is generally an excellent thing. I just don't appreciate when people try to impose their views in a way that restricts individual liberty for no good reason.

If it's legal, regulated, and taxed, it will cut down on crime and human trafficking.

Maybe the way around this is for prostitutes to film the sex acts and claim they are being paid to make porn videos....nothing that law enforcement could do to them now!

If they arrested one prostitute under these circumstances, they would be forced to go after those who are making legit porn and charge them the same.

I dont understand why the public doesnt get outraged and upset when local police do prostitution stings or arrest people for this, If my tax money is going for this, I would be pretty upset they are wasting it and would definitely want to voice my opinion to police and demand that they stop this immediately.

Plus, you have to consider the time and resources that go into prostitution stings, that could be used to go after much more important and serious crime, thats the BIG one, I guess police have nothing better to do?!!

I saw a few minutes of a police prostitution stingin the US, on TV recently, but turned it off as it was so sickening -It really did seem like state sponsored sexual perversion, with police pretending to want sex, creeping around treating adults who actually wanted sex, like criminals.

Sure... puritans can do as they wish and everyone else as well. The issue is imposing those views on everyone else.

That doesn't work. The bar to fall under 1st amendment protections as a porn videographer is far higher than simply having a camera in the room.

Yep, I totally agree, its really creepy when law enforcement does this, its almost like they take it personally and they really enjoy busting these people and slapping the cuffs on...they truly believe they are doing the Lords work I guess! LOL

I watched one of these prostitution stings on tv and one of the creepy SVU cops was talking on camera, how its the 'best' thing for many prostitutes to be caught and arrested!! I never did get to hear how she justified that crazy logic, but again, it probably goes back to them believing they are 'doing Gods work', rooting out the evil people who like sex and throwing them in jail!! Im pretty sure the prostitutes would disagree that getting arrested is the best thing for them too!! LOL
