It’s not that it is all fake About mr trump -he has plenty of flaws -it’s the lop sided handling of criticism and news that is troubling- biased is blatant
Saying there is foreign interference is fine the obvious attempt to pin it on mr trump is the witch hunt
McCarthyism revisited

How did we get to the point where any news critical of the President is automatically fake?

It's not, despite Captain Queeg's continual whining.

That began when the press insisted on fawning over a President who was mediocre, and then drooled over his wife who was rather plain.
That's when we became suspicious.

Read what the Leninists like Steve Bannon believe: A lie told often enough becomes truth.

I mean, we are in a situation in this country where most people have chosen to blindly follow an authoritarian leader and refuse to believe anything negative they hear about him. While dictators of the past have enacted restrictions on the press in order to force positive coverage, Trump has been successful at convincing Americans to simply disregard any coverage of him that is negative or critical as fake. In essence, Fox News has filled the role of a state-run propaganda network pushing Trump's agenda, not too different from Soviet Central Television, and most people are just fine with that and don't even question it. In fact, most people are placing their anger towards "mainstream" sources because they are critical of their beloved leader. Why does this not bother more people?
Because those reporting are afflicted with TDS or suffering from TAD.

It all depends on the source of the news OP. If the outlet such as CNN is nothing but negative Trump bashing 24/7 there is no doubt in my mind that they will hype the bad news from the WH and ignore the good news.

CNN exposed their bias on election night. My wife and I bounced back and forth between FOX and CNN. CNN was nearly 25 minutes behind the reporting on FOX and still crunching numbers on how Hillary could win as FOX was reporting that Trump won that state.

The mood at FOX was upbeat as they reported the incredible news of Trump inching towards a win while at CNN the hosts were dumbfounded and looked like someone had just stolen their puppy.

The news is biased and it is easy to label it fake news when it is pushing an anti Trump agenda to the point of being propaganda.

How many times has the Left wing media called for the destruction of the world with Trump at the helm?

it is getting old even for the people that believe them.

Exactly. It's Trump's MO, just keep repeating things until they're believed.

He's spinning out of control because only his base, and not the Intel Chiefs, are falling for "no collusion " and "witch hunt".

How did we get to the point where attacking one man for attempting to enforce the law was the sole substance of the news

the problem goes far beyond Trump and his cult.

The world has a huge problem, a large percentage of the human population has very poor critical thinking skills, and at least in the West most of those people do not want to acquire or engage such skills.

It is super EASY to tell yourself that there is some large powerful group is impeding you and yours. It is attractive to believe that "if not for those people over there" my life and my kids lives would be so much better.

And again it is not just Trump supporters. I find the same style of thinking in plenty of places around the world, many people outside the US, think Trump is dumb BUT they often comment how they "understand why Americans voted for him over Hillary". Why? well if you ask them they will tell you a few of the fake stories promoted by FOX/Drudge/Infowars etc. You can break down a story show step by step how it is completely fake, and instead of accepting the facts they retreat to the next story or say "there must be some truth to it or why would everyone say it.

And that is the whole point of Murdoch/ Ailes empire, to shift thinking by telling scary stories to the public. It relieves them of actually thinking for themselves and allows them to blame some nebulous ever changing "bad actors" for their woes.

In short Trump supporters don't want to think; they don't want to deal with the complex problems our world has. Instead they would rather retreat to blaming some other group for the hardships of life. People of "faith" are at much higher risk of falling into this group.
