The goal of these “activists “ is for there to be no police and they just want the criminals to have free reign.
Crime data is apparently “racist” now ..

Early each morning, computers spit out maps of Los Angeles, marked with red squares where a complex algorithm has judged that property crimes are most likely to occur.
As police officers patrol the streets, they keep these areas in mind, perhaps taking a detour to pass through on the way to a call, or warning people not to leave valuables in their cars.
Members of the coalition held signs with messages such as “Crime Data is Racist” and “Data Driven Evidence Based Policing: Pseudoscience.”
The activists lambasted the methods, which identify crime hotspots as well as “chronic offenders” who are likely to commit crimes, as biased against blacks and Latinos, with some calling for them to be abolished.
But many speakers at the meeting said the programs were riddled with racial bias, and the only solution was to dismantle them.
“Predictive policing is nothing but a Stasi, Nazi Germany style for targeting people of color,” Yasmin Adan, an immigrant from Somalia in her 40s, said.

In the NYPD we had COMSTAT. They would map out every crime. Times and days. Then that would dictate to a major degree where they assigned personnel. Then they would hold meetings making precinct commanders accountable. It drove down crime and saved lives.
So it's like the west coast version of "stop and frisk"?
No, it's not. It's called proactive policing and Los Angeles pretty much invented it. You go where the numbers tell you crime is happening. Why is that an issue?? I guess that makes way too much sense for liberals.
If you don't know anything about police work, I suggest you move on to another topic.
BTW, who do you call when you need help? I mean, real help. If you don't like the police, then handle your own problems, which you probably created yourself anyway~

Ghostbusters duh!
jk, makes sense on paper. But gotta read more about it.
I see nothing wrong with driving through what would be higher crime area's but...........
Focusing on “chronic offenders” has a benefit, too, allowing police to concentrate on those people while cutting back on random stops of innocent drivers, Kato said.
Why would they randomly stop innocent people at all?
BIG UGH. What is it with these Social Justice Warriors? They take to the streets to protest anything.
Here is an idea. Why don't these "activists" go to these neighborhoods where the red zones are? Park their cars and walk around with their signs complaining about racist cops and see what happens.
Are these people so dim witted that they cannot understand that if the crimes ARE happening in a predominantly black neighborhood and NOT happening in a predominantly white persons hood then guess where the Police go.
I suppose if the cops only patrolled the "safer" white neighborhood then these "activists" will complain that the cops have turned their backs on the black folks and they don't care.
I don't normally wish bad things to happen to stupid people but maybe if these "activists" were to become victims of some crimes they might change their lousy opinions of the Police might change.

We all should be condemning random stops of innocent people.

Correct. And LAPD borrowed it and call it something else. But before that, they did proactive police work, going where the crimes were happening and patrolling there. It does work.
