Coats appeared alongside five of the Trump administration’s highest-ranking national security officials to verify the administration’s stance on the issue of Russian malevolence, that the foreign power had sought to interfere in both the past presidential election and that Trump had directed U.S. intelligence agencies to combat any interference in the upcoming congressional elections.

Trump's admin admits it's been a problem and is still a problem and that same night Trump says it's a hoax how does that make sense to anyone?

It does when you understand that Trump is in gaslighting mode 100% of the time, and constantly projects his own flaws onto anyone who is critical of him.

Trump needs to get with the times and stop listening to Obama when he told us all that it was impossible for the Russians to tinker with our elections.

Didn't facebook just find like 30 something Russian accounts that were tied to election meddling?

30 something people is pretty significant in a country of 325 million.

In the supplied by OP quote Trump is all for combating the threat. Where does the hoax part come in?

I watched this all morning on the morning news (wife is home today, watches the Today show). Not once did I hear what it is exactly that they are supposedly doing.

Ok--it's Obama's fault that Trump is an ass. The Trump faithful really crack me up.

"The hoax part" comes from Trump's own big mouth. He said it. Loudly. After a number of admin officials said on camera that afternoon that it is real.

This is one schizo administration.

The admin admits that Russia is trying to interfere, Trump says the investigation into Russia collusion is a hoax. He's right and they're right.

Both, they're both right when taken in context.

Russia doesn't have to interfere in our elections, as they're already living rent free in our heads. We'll assume it's happening whether it is or it isn't and jump down each other's throats about it. We're giving Russia what it wants.

I still can't decide why Trump bows to Putin.

Is he afraid of him? Does he admire him, want to be like him?
Is he really so smitten he cannot hear what intelligence tells him about Putin and Russia, take over of countries, murders? Is he just plain dumb? Does he want Putin to run the US for him?
