Just curious. Many Trumpers base their support on the incorrect idea that he is a brilliant businessman who became a billionaire through his shrewd maneuverings. If this turned out not to be a lie, would you feel upset and betrayed, or would you shrug it off, like you shrug off all the other misdeeds?
I was just re-reading this, by Emily Bazelon:
In 2005, Tim O’Brien, then a financial reporter at The New York Times, published the book “TrumpNation: The Art of Being the Donald.” O'Brien talked to sources with an up-close view of Donald J. Trump’s finances, who concluded that the real-estate developer’s net worth was $150 million to $250 million, rather than the $2 billion to $5 billion Trump had variously claimed. Trump, who had courted O’Brien by taking him for rides in his Ferrari and private jet, sued O’Brien for libel in New Jersey in 2006. Trump called O’Brien a “wack job” on the “Today” show — while, O’Brien says, continuing to curry favor with him privately. O’Brien’s publisher, Warner Books, was also named in the suit and hired top lawyers who put Trump through an unsparing two-day deposition. Asked about his finances, Trump was caught lying or exaggerating 30 times. “He thought he’d get a friendly judge, and we would roll over,” says O’Brien, who is now the executive editor of Bloomberg View. “We didn’t.” The case went through four judges and was dismissed in 2009.

Trump is not hiding his taxes because he didn't pay enough to the Feds.
He would only be proud of that fact.
The only reason he is holding out as long as he can... like until he has won the election, is because it will show that he doesn't have as many Billions as he claims to have.
It's partly a Trump-ego thing, but all business. If the Trump "Name" or "Brand" should suffer, he's finished.
Why can't you people, including Hilary, figure this out?
Some more here...

Ooh snap.
In fact, my post up there on the link was my first in the election cycle for me iirc.

Exactly how much did Haiti get? Nevermind. Let the Feds answer that one for us.
Gonna be a whole lotta debunkin goin on...

clearly its not, its NEVER been considered one.. you guys argued this very same thing when reviewing the Romney Foundation just 4 short years ago..
short memories I guess.. or just amnesia.. so spare me on trying to educate me on who to vote for until you can keep your arguments straight.
Ooh snap again.
Would you like to work for our Feds? They may have an opening.
Trumps plan is to help Trump and the rich get richer. the only person who cares if Trump is a billionaire or not is Trump. I'm guessing his tax returns show that he is not.
I'm guessing that is one of the reasons we haven't seen them.
Trump is a braggart and liar. If he really had billions and paid taxes legally on his vast wealth, he would want people to see his returns, if only to impress them.
If he has what he claims he has, that would make him the most insecure billionaire in the world. He's hiding something.
The only other modern president who wouldn't release his returns was Nixon. Turns out he cheated on his taxes, and guess what? He was a crook.
So now you believe people voted for Trump because they think he is a billionaire?
I think what folks bought into was the glittery package. Does anyone really believe Trump is a great thinker? A humanitarian? A man of moral virtue?
Nope. They saw a carefully cultivated image of what it is to be a "rich guy" in America. Gold-plated home, hot wife and a jet. Purely aspirational. The living embodiment of a Mercedes-Benz commercial during The Masters golf tournament. Yup, you too can have all of this... all you need to do is start out with a million bucks from your father, read a few of my books, take a class from my "University", watch my TV show, let me fix the stacked deck against you and you're well on your way to riches.
A scam as old as the first person to ever pick up a deck of cards and dreamed up the Three-card Monte. And the beat goes on...
Fake news, try 62,000,000. Just can't get over that he didn't get the majority of the votes, can ya?
You just can't get over that Hillary didn't get the majority of the votes, can ya. More people voted for someone else. And you really can't get over the fact that only the electoral votes matter and your candidate was to arrogant to figure out that calling half the country deplorable and then ignoring them on the campaign trail wasn't going to win.

For the 5,000th time, tax returns show a single year's INCOME, not his net worth.
I don't believe he's a billionaire for a minute. But I see a few posters here throwing that around. Amazing that they just take his word for it. Honestly, I've come to realize that we aren't dealing with the brightest people.
I think that what disturbs me most is not Donald Trump. Hucksters/shysters/con-men like him have been around forever. I am most disturbed by the outright swallowing and lock-step following that 30-some percent of the population in the U.S. is doing. I actually thought, as a nation, we were smarter than that. Public schooling has failed miserably. And to watch some struggling, working class white folks think he's going to save them, when he will do the exact opposite, is sad to watch.
I agree. Or rather, what bothers me is not only that so many millions of Trump supporters are so gullible, but also that they're apparently so mean - racist, anti-semitic, xenophobic, greedy, adoring the bully.

That's it. This is what is difficult to stomach, knowing this is what exists.

I didn’t vote for Trump because he is rich, I voted for Trump because he drives people like you crazy. 🙂

Now there's a smart reason to choose a presidential candidate.
Hey, Michael Avenatti, Stormy Daniels' lawyer, has just announced that he is considering running for President in 2020. That would be great because he can "out Trump" Trump. He is snarky, very smart, media savvy, well educated (better than Trump), and even won a lawsuit against Kimberly-Clark for his client. He can appeal to the "stick it in their eye" types, like you, as well as the middle and upper classes.
Go Michael!!!
