Why? Capitalism and Democracy are also a religion. Anything can be a religion. Atheism can be a religion.

This is not a controversial on unpopular conclusion.

I don't think most people believe in their political party, but just see it as the best choice, in a relatively narrow range of choice.

Bent Bow, I’d save you if I could, but I can’t and it is important to know your own limitations.
That was not meant as condescending. More like an offer of friendship, and realizing that I can’t meet everyone’s needs.

It is not hard, to debate before logic & reason, to draw the parallels of a Political party, be it Republican or Democrat or Libertarian, Green...... is no different than a religious sect. Catholic, Muslim, Hindu, Jewish, Lutheran, Episcopalian, Baptist.

Change My Mind.

Spot on.

There are millions of independents.

So much for your argument

As for Dem vs Repub, they pretend they are the opposites, but they are not. Practically nothing changes when the different parties are in power. Look at us now. The GOP spent 8 years screaming about spending, but now they they are in charge, they are spending even more.
