Btw, could we add the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915 to the list of conspiracies? Conspiracy or Foul-Up? - The Lusitania Resource
I did not know much about this until I read the following book:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23014663-lusitania

However, I would not recommend that book because most of it was devoted to biographies of the Saloon Class (First Class) passengers and very little to anything else. One thing that did stand out, though, was that I think that the author very strongly implied (or might have even said) that the captain was going much too slowly at the end of the journey when the logical choice would have been to speed up. (The captain survived, btw.) I am going to read the following book next, which has received much better reviews.

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/22551730-dead-wake

But as far as whether the sinking was the result of any kind of conspiracy? At this point, I still don't have an opinion as to whether it was or not.

Default How many of the following conspiracy theories do you think might actually be true?

Just #1

The Iraq invasion, clearly was motivated by Cheney's desire for Halliburton and others profits.

And that's not speculation.

This is the reason for nearly every war fought since the beginning of the human race, by every country (or large group) in every area of the globe. It's hardly a "conspiracy".

Except maybe to the extent that the leaders have lied to their people about the reasons... and the people have decided to go along with the lie.

The US was helping and aiding England and the Allies long before it officially entered the war. From what I have read, Germany knew this and told both countries that its u-boats would sink any ships moving between the two, including passenger ships.

I would just like to know how many of the following you think might have at least some truth to them because I am just curious as to whether most City Data P&OC posters are more skeptical toward conspiracy theorists or toward those whom the theorists accuse (mostly the U.S. government).

1. That the U.S. has intentionally started/created wars with other countries due to power and/or profit motives alone
2. That Franklin D. Roosevelt had advance knowledge of the Pearl Harbor attack but allowed it to happen
3. That the U.S. covered up an alleged Roswell extraterrestrial crash and/or other extraterrestrial encounters
4. That the John F. Kennedy assassination was the result of a conspiracy and not just one man acting alone
5. That men did not land on the moon in 1969
6. That there is a current and active plot among some people in government to make the U.S. something other than what the "founding fathers" intended (Fascist, Socialist, Communist, whatever)
7. That the public school system and/or the mass media are actively and intentionally "dumbing down" many Americans
8. That both the government and the mass media have suppressed the truth about 9/11
9. That the 2012 Sandy Hook shooting either did not happen or was a false flag event
10. That there is a goal to greatly depopulate the world and possibly enslave much of remaining population (Agenda 21/Agenda 2030)

(I personally think that four of the above conspiracy theories are probably or actually true.)

Thanks in advance.

P.S. And, again, it is NOT my intention to start a debate on any of the above theories.

The bolded ones are the only ones I believe could be true and on JFK's assassination, I'm more inclined to believe it was some sort of mob hit than a government conspiracy.

I agree with this in regards to #1. All wars are usually started and/or continued for profit reasons. War makes a lot of money.

Correct, it's not.

It's wishful thinking.

No, they destroy money (and a lot else).

But they are started for the purpose of taking what the other country has.
