This term fake news seems to be a popular phrase from trump and his followers, are the Forest fires that are being reported on not actually happening? did the Ohio elections not really happen and were a just made up story? was trumps visit to Russia and N Korea fake news?
Seems to me people are mistaking actual news for opinion pieces they dont like and thus calling it fake news,

Yep, #FAKE NEWS is not anything that Donald Trump doesn't like or threatens him.

While they were incorrect, that wasn't a news story. That was an opinion analysis of various polls and reported in a blog-spot off of the NYT website. Polls aren't "facts" they are polls and are sometimes correct and sometimes incorrect. You can't label that "news" much less "fake news."

Right now CNN main page is saying some nonsense about how Republicans "should panic" since it was a close race. How is that journalism? How about "GOP wins in Ohio" and leave your opinion and wet dreams out of it. It's a disgrace.

The term "fake news" is widely overused when the correct phrase would be bias news. You don't need to lie or make stuff up to be bias. The story gets spun with negative/positive connotation, misleading facts or simply leave something out based on the authors bias. This may also be the result of really bad journalism.

That post was tongue in cheek.

To me, “fake news” doesnt necessarily have to mean the story is fake, but rather the way they report it. The way CNN quickly reports the positive about the administration and moves on just as quickly. That is when they report it at all. If it is something that puts the administration in a bad light, they harp on it for days.

And, the way FOX basically does exactly the opposite, tells me that there are 2 different ways that you can cover the same exact information.

It’s all fake news to me, because these days, the “journalists” are trying to influence me one way or the other, instead of just giving me the facts and letting me decide for myself.

This was based on polling data and most legitimate polls are going to try and adjust data so it accurately reflects what they are polling. Why wouldn't they? Be kind of useless if they were always wrong.

The polls being so wrong were simply a matter of them screwing up. If anything it harmed Hiallry's chances with some Democrats staying home thinking she was a shoe in.

Conservatives are not PC. If we say it's fake news, its fake news. We don't mince words.
