Trump may not be enough to swing Latino turnout Democrats' way

Democrats have hit an unexpected speed bump in their drive to regain control of Congress: unsettling signs that the party may not generate as much turnout or support among Latino voters this fall as it expected.

...
While cautioning that there is still time to reverse the trend, they point to signs of wavering Hispanic support and engagement in House districts in Texas, Nevada, Florida and California, and in Senate races in Texas, Nevada, Florida and Arizona.

"I still think it's a little too soon to push the panic button, but having said that, we are not seeing the types of numbers with Hispanic voters that we should be seeing with the most hostile person to ever hold public office against Hispanics as the President," said Fernand Amandi, principal at Bendixen & Amandi International, a Democratic polling firm that specializes in studying Latino voters. "And that in and of itself is a concern. I'm flabbergasted."

Maybe Latinos are too busy working and being productive to pay attention to the Democrats.

None of the minority groups vote in large numbers when the Democrats don't have a clear platform. The DNC seems to have lost Roosevelt's understanding of what advances the needs of the middle and lower classes.

Why would the Hispanics turn out for the Dems when all the Dems want to do is flood the country with illegals and give them amnesty. The Hispanics know that if this happens their jobs will be at risk.

What the Dems flat out do not understand is that there is a big difference between a LEGAL immigrant and an ILLEGAL one.

Trump is ok with Legal immigrants, he is married to one. Legal immigrants followed the law and most are productive members of our society. ILLEGAL aliens seek to break the law and become leaches on our society.

Chances are the Hispanics that immigrated legally went to all that trouble and expense for the opportunity that America gives to everyone that is willing to work for it AND to get away from the very people that the Dems want to welcome.

Why would the Hispanics come out for the Dems?

Why do some people think that we all have to favor illegal immigration, or we hate Latinos?
Nice to see a thread where most seem to be on a common page, which is that legal Latinos are hardworking and are themselves not in favor of open borders. Treat folks right and they will vote the issues, not a party.

But then comes along a new Trump "initiative" and you can't help but scratch your heading wondering what in the world is the man thinking.

Trump administration wants to limit citizenship for some legal immigrants
The Trump administration is expected to issue a proposal in coming weeks that would make it harder for legal immigrants to become citizens or get green cards if they have ever used a range of popular public welfare programs, including Obamacare, four sources with knowledge of the plan told NBC News.

It sounds like Trump is now the one getting it all confused. That or it's the duel of the competing threads.

As I said, it's because most Hispanic-Americans are from Mexican roots and they want amnesty for their illegal amigos. Many Hispanics are anchor babies also and have become of voting age. Their parents are here illegally thus they want amnesty for them.

Why do you think the Democrats keep pandering them? The polls, marches, advocacy groups prove it all out also.

Did you miss what I already posted? I said, the polls, marches and advocacy groups prove it. And again, why do you think that the Democrats pander to them with amnesty promises then if that's not what they want? Why do you think that Hispanics overwhelmingly vote Democrat? Most from Mexican roots have a tribal mentality that trumps our immigration laws.

There are whites, blacks, latino's who have good work ethics and there are whites, blacks, latino's who don't. It's usually the ladder that is the loudest, working harder to get out of work than the effort it would take to work.
