Gotcha. But guess what? Universal health care, in it's typical implementation, is exactly what you say here that you don't support. The government, in essence, becomes the insurer. But what happens after that? Well, the government then hires a contractor out--i.e. pays a private corporation for your medical care.

So we have this flow of money: taxpayer ---> federal government ---> private health care corporation,

rather than this flow of money: taxpayer ---> private insurer ---> private health care corporation

So basically UHC is a corporate socialist program in almost all cases. It simply cuts out the insurance industry. Now, mind you, I'm all for cutting the insurance industry out. But here is my money flow preference:

private citizen ---> private health care provider

(with some sort of provision for crazy expensive procedures. NO, I don't have specifics on that. If I did, I'd be working in the industry. But there ARE always alternatives, if people would just seek them out, that can replace collectivism)

I'm not the one that doesn't understand what Capitalism is. Well, to be fair, it seems few do.

I covered this already. We need to do away with the insurance industry to help make this affordable.

Well then, if the future of our discussion depends on a definition for capitalism, let's clear this puppy up right now and let the smoke clear from the field.

From Websters:

Capitalism --
: an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market.

Okay, now we are set.

Then our disagreement is mainly on the best way to do that. You want to go with corporate socialism, I don't.

Bail outs are an investment determined by the government.
