He will never testify. One mistake and they have a perjury rap. My personal belief is that Mueller will have beliefs but will not have proof. He will believe that Trump may have obstructed justice but will not be able to prove it. He will probably have zilch that he colluded with Russia. Honestly when Mueller is looking at tweets to try and find a connection to obstruction leads me to believe is that he nothing that he can prove. Its not what you know or believe. Its what you can prove.Grasping at straws at this point. So Trump says he wants to testify but the lawyers say no. The lawyers will win on this one.
I'm pretty sure Mueller already has the answers to all the questions he wants to ask, cross referenced and footnoted with multiple sources.
It's the way the questions are asked. Just like they did with Flynn. Flynn was asked if he met with any foreign governments as part of the Trump campaign and he rightfully said NO which he did not meet them as part of the Trump campaign, he met them as part of the job he was currently holding. Comey even understood that not to be a lie but Mueller wanted to play tricks and nail him for lying because while Flynn WAS a part of Trump's campaign he met with foreign governments. See the trick there that Prosecutors play? They load the questions on both ends where there is no right answer since both the question and answer can be twisted to fit whatever they want. They lay traps that make you look guilty no matter how honest your answer is. It happens everyday in courtrooms around the world.
And then Flynn promptly pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate.

No, Trump's interview with special counsel Mueller wouldn't be a 'perjury trap'
Being called to testify and therefore having the opportunity to commit perjury does not make that testimony a perjury trap. If that were the case, every witness could make the same argument. Claiming that Trump's testimony would be a perjury trap is like saying driving a car is a "speeding trap" because being behind the wheel gives you the opportunity to exceed the speed limit.
Characterizing the president's interview as a potential perjury trap is simply wrong. But it is of a piece with the broader effort by the president and his political allies to discredit Mueller's investigation. It suggests — wrongly — that Mueller is treating the president unfairly. If the president commits perjury or false statements, it will be because he chose to lie — not because he was caught in a "trap."
I think Mueller should quit screwing around and just slap Trump with a subpoena and be done with it. Sure, it will be fought but I'm not sure that's the way Republicans want to go into the mid-terms, with their main guy tied up in a constitutional skirmish. It might stir up the base but I think most folks believe that a President is not above the law and must answer to a subpoena.
This "perjury trap" nonsense is just people parroting what Trumps lawyers are claiming. Trump should have an interest in disclosing information on the Russian investigation and moving this along as he repeatedly claims.
That's not a yes or now question but people keep on bringing this example up as if its valid. A better question would be to ask him if he was aware at the time of the meeting between Trump Jr, Kushner and Manafort and the Russian agent in Trump tower. Follow up question would be why they met with her.
