She was the leaker from 2017 whose headlines faded fairly quickly. I didn't have a chance to read up much about her at the time, but I was struck by the fact that she was apparently surprised that the government tracked her down. Gotta love that name, right? In fact, it's very Trumpian.

Anyway, just thought I'd share my reading:

Not every leaker is an ideological combatant like Edward Snowden and Chelsea Manning. Reality Winner may be the may be the unlikeliest of all.

Her first mistake was letting the US Military get to her. They like'em young and stupid (but talented, if that makes sense.)

It's too bad. Now she knows though.

Ideally, no one should name their kid that if it is her real name.

Reality Winner Trumpian? Yeah right, it's far leftists that name their kids that weird crap since they think it's cool and intellectual when it's actually brain numbingly childish and cruel.

Except she loathes Trump. You likely have more in common with her than a Trump supporter does.

Yes. Her father named her after the slogan on a t-shirt worn by a girl in their Lamaze class.

The stupid kid put a heck of a dent in her future thinking it would be fun to undermine the Trump administration.

I guess she thought, all the cool kids are doing it, and heck, I'll never get caught.

Ms. Winner left many clues when she took a single N.S.A. document, a May 5 report detailing hacking by the G.R.U., Russian military intelligence. The report described hacks in August against a company that sells software related to voter registration and another, a few days before the election, against 122 local election officials.

An F.B.I. affidavit said a visible crease mark on the file, a scan of which The Intercept provided to the government while trying to authenticate it, prompted investigators to surmise it was a printout.
Audit trails showed six people had printed copies, but only one — Ms. Winner — had also used a work computer to exchange emails with The Intercept. A search warrant application said she had found the report by plugging keywords into the N.S.A.’s system that fell outside her normal work duties — and had printed no other files.
