Vox takes issue with Trump's hyperbole about MS-13, not the horrendous violence imposed by MS-13 on Salvadorian Immigrants.
It's not a drug cartel. There is no central leadership. It's unsophisticated and not growing. The woman who remarked about the characteristics of gang members ( working after school, living with their parents, and get around on bikes because they cannot afford cars) was blowing a hole through the image of tatted up males. According to her, MS-13 gang members often look like non- gang members in their Salvadorian suburbian communities.
The text link provides more of a back story than the video and does not downplay the extreme violence.
It refers to the 22 homicides in Suffolk Cty, NY last year, of which 14 have been attributed to MS-13.
Suffolk Cty NY is 2,373 square miles and contains several wealthy suburbs. The Salvadorian population is estimated at about 52,000 out of a county population of 1.5 million and tends to be concentrated to hamlets ( unincorporated) areas of a few towns. MS-13 targets Salvadorians, especially newly immigrated.
The Salvadorian community's silence is the gang's strength.
There are no MS-13 gang members hiding under people's beds ( with Muslims).
lmao..Why would ANYONE other than a complete NUT have ANY issue with any sort of hyperbole or anything directed towards a murderous gang? Who? Besides you it looks like.

Probably because I think the electorate deserves to be accurately informed and because policy decisions should be driven by facts rather than hysterical hyperbole.
Why would anyone other than a complete nut have any issue with being presented with fact rather than hyperbole?

Another nut. Stop the insanity already. MS-13 deserves nothing but a jail cell. A murderous gang is a murderous gang period and they need to be dealt with as such, no policy decision will be affected at all by understanding if they all have tattoos on their necks and faces or not or if they ride a bike. No need to try and sugar coat anything for the purpose of propping up their public image which is exactly what that article and some here are trying to do. The level of insanity many of you go through just for your hatred of the POTUS is a mental illness all in itself.
When people are critical of liberal media . This is why . Misinformation like this is just dangerous and irresponsible .
They have blind hate for Trump so much they are willing to side with MS-13 gang members . Wow .

Vox and ProPublica take aim at President Trump’s heightened concern for gangs in the United States in a recently published video, claiming his harsh characterizations of MS-13 are unfair.
She says the gang members she observes “are working after-school jobs, they’re living with their parents, they get around Long Island on bicycles because they can’t afford cars …” This innocuous depiction of MS-13 indicates substantial ignorance of the recent havoc that the group has wrecked upon the citizens of Long Island.
MS-13 is little 12 year olds living with their parents. They're not from Honduras nor El Salvador! Their from Granada Hills!

You don't think cartels aren't here making money hands over fist?

Many people have issue with a relatively minor issue being blown out of proportion in order to justify a greater evil being perpetrated by the current administration.

Who has argued that gang members don't belong in jail? Not me. Not anyone on this thread. Not anyone that I know. No one is "sugar coating" MS-13 or "propping up their public image".
If you don't understand the premise of this thread or the counterpoints, that's on you. Go start a thread entitled "MS-13 is bad, who disagrees" and see if you get any takers. On this thread, the OP claimed that Vox was depicting MS-13 members as "nice kids who ride bikes" which, it turns out, was untrue. If you want to contribute to that discussion, please do. But if you want to kick sand around the sandbox go do it somewhere else.
Actually -
It's better to make GOP Campaign ads showing the support of the Leftists for MS-13 Gangs by the Left.
It'll make a great ad. And the Hispanic community hates these people because MS-13 primarily preys on them and their children. Only limousine libs and hopeless nitwits buy this nonsense.
It would have been cool if the OP had linked straight to the Vox story instead of to a right-wing link about the Vox story. Also, who is Vox? I have heard of them a time or two, but do not know anything about them other than vox means voice.
