Just having a hard time believing they hacked the election. Even foreigners aren't stupid enough to believe that. I believe they can hack email servers like when Sony got hacked and exposed.

Electing Hillary and Trump in the primaries proves we are stupid.

Yeah. No one hacked the election. At best they tried to influence it, but lots of people and entities did that. Some legal, some not.

There is 100% uncertainty by intelligence officers and politicians with access to the information (both left and right) that the russians most DEFINITELY did interfere with the election.

And yes -- it makes the USA look stupid.

And yes -- the USA looks even stupider claiming that this is not a significant issue that warrants an investigation.

And yes -- Trump and his fans should be all about the Russian investigation because -- according to them -- Trump did absolutely nothing and there is no danger in him being proven guilty of any crime but we may be able to ascertain the scope, the methods, EXACTLY how, where and why the Russians did interfere.

But because Trump and his fans have made the focus of the Russian investigation be a 'witch hunt' they have chosen to shift the priority of the investigation in the minds of Amreicans....both left and right.

If it's a machine that runs software it can be hacked. Stop looking at hacking as some War Games like movie. The level of hacking goes from simple to advanced. Voting machines themselves could have been compromised from the manufacturer when they installed the firmware onto the machine. The firmware could have already been re-coded. The people who work in these industries are not all development programmers. Most of the times the program is outsourced and sent over to the hardware guys where they do the install and test. The QA on the final rendition of the voting machine get tested for registering votes, simple stuff. The QA guys are not going to go back into the code to looks for traces of added lines to see what they actually do (Apple does this for their apps BTW).

It's a lot more than looking at a voting box seeing that it's not connected to the internet at the time of voting and that there after and saying Nah the Russians or anyone for that matter can't get into that.

just some food for thought. There is a lot more to this but there isn't enough time to discuss all the possibilities.

It's like a game of telephone. What starts with election meddling turns into election hacking? There's a distinct difference here. Russians may have hacked the DNC. That's not the same as election hacking. They may have released targeted ads in swing states to people more prone to vote Democrat in order to sway their vote or convince them to stay home. Russian operatives may have worked with the Trump campaign for timely release of dirt on Clinton.

Not all of this is known for sure.

One thing that I think nearly everyone agrees on - Russians did not change 2016 vote totals by way of hacking into election systems. Hence why we should not question the legitimacy of our President. We should question the stupidity of the people...

However, it is very concerning if our election system are hacked and vote totals are changed. That's a really big problem. That's stuff that I'd expect a sitting party to do in order to keep power. What bothers me is that I wonder how complicit the Republican party is about this. As long as they think election meddling favors them, they will be complacent and therefore complicit in this.

Its also water under the Bridge. Trump won. I dont like him but reality is reality. Dems need to figure out how to get someone the middle can vote for while maintaining the vote of the fringy loons.
