Millennial Couple Bikes Through ISIS Territory to Prove ‘Humans Are Kind’ and Gets Killed
If Tajikistan is ISIS territory, then we have something to worry about, because it can only mean ISIS has expanded to that place. It has not been ISIS territory in the past.

It's weird the title makes it look like the cyclists knew it was ISIS territory and went there knowingly to make some kind of statement. Seems dishonest.

1 a Exercise normal precautions
2 - Exercise increased precautions
3 - Reconsider travel
4 - Do not travel

Again, Tajikistan is under a Level 2, exercise increased precautions, the same level as Mexico. Before these two were killed, the only specifics to the Level 2 travel advisory were to avoid large public gatherings and avoid drawing attention to yourself.

That’s why it’s better to avoid certain groups of people instead of certain areas of land.

No, survival is the point. When people start to feel they are above their basic needs they make mistakes, like debt, drugs, dangerous situations.

One can come up with a lot of existential excuses to be a bum.

Not on Tajik soil historically, but according to The Hague, Tajikstan nationals have committed more ISIS suicide missions on foreign soil than any other nationality. Given that, I think its safe to say that Tajikstan has been "on the radar" of Western nations long before these cyclists were killed.

Reminds me of the american communist apologists and sympathizers who went to live in the USSR only to end up in a gulag as an "enemy of the state"

Typical of a progressive mindset to quit their jobs to live a life PAID for by everyone else but themselves.

Before this particular act of terrorism, Tajikstan had a normal rating from the US Department of State. Right now they have a level 2, the same as France or Germany.
Most people don't die by age 40, and these people were too young to die "doing something fun", to die at all. They could have had many more years of travelling and maybe learning there is more to life than fun, and contributing to society.

All Muslim countries are dangerous for westerners (nonbelievers), might as well get used to including Sweden and France.

Of course, going to Las Vegas can also be deadly.

Yeah, feel bad for those people. It must be nice in a way to be that naïve, I don't mean that with disrespect. I believe that there are truly good people and most people lean toward being decent to very good, but there are people that lean the other way, up to and including people like ISIS.

Feel bad for their families. We shouldn't run around in a state of perpetual fear, but we need to be open to the reality that "evil" does exist.
