Firstly I have to question what replica website means, it's very difficult to understand the back end architecture and security measures of a live site. You can only make educated guesses. Secondly changing something displayed on a public website is not quite the same as changing the data used to compile it.

Republicans have argued it is too soon to allocate new money for the following year and want to see how states use the $380 million already set aside for election security efforts. "

Exactly.

I read it.

What you chose to bold in no way negates the fact that the republicans voted against it.

Regardless of the alleged reason, a “no” vote is a “no” vote.

Nice spin, will you acknowledge they voted for the first, much larger $$$$?

If you were in charge of money, would you provide more money without knowing or the first round was even spent?

We disagree on a lot - quite alot, actually - but on this one, I'll march under your banner any day of the week. Paper ballots and watchers from both parties to keep shenanigans from happening.

The chances would have been exactly the same. The "hack" involved changing the display of already collated results. Whether the results were obtained using paper ballots is immaterial.
