I think I would be tempted to vote for an intelligent and passionate 14-year-old over someone who has been in politics for 40 years and is too tired or discouraged or established to do anything other than just takes his party's (Republican or Democrat) line about everything.
When I was 14, I thought I had all the answers, lol, but living as long as I have has cured me of the hope that our leaders really care about improving things for the majority of people; and so all I do is post my opinions with the knowledge that I am not actually doing anything that will make a penny's worth of difference regarding actually changing anything -- and so kudos to the Ethan for putting his efforts where his thoughts are, and I just hope he keeps his enthusiasm for many more years!
You know what...I was going to say that this is a publicity stunt, and if the kid were smarter, he'd spend a few years learning more about the world around him so as to be a better leader...but this might actually be a pretty clever thing to do. It'll get his name out there now. He'll lose (god, I hope he'll lose) but he'll get lots of publicity for when he runs as an adult.
Edit: Okay...if he's running against someone like Kanye West, perhaps it'd be best for him to win. Kanye did say he's running for president in 2020. Hopefully he forgets about it by then.
We adored that little Nazi Hogg kid and thought he was brilliant beyond his years, this kid is way smarter and more honest than Hogg tried to pass himself off as.
And the kid could probably out debate Obama and Pelosi.
