Sure. As far as helping others, I don't care what your personal beliefs are.
Yes, there is no need to go down that road. Many of my friends and acquaintances, as well as most of my family, are Atheist, but that doesn't stop them from participating in activities that help the community. That has nothing to do with churches paying taxes or not.

The OP is obviously clueless about how churches operate and what they do, and has probably never set foot in a church in his life. He just doesn't like religion or religious people.
Like hell.

Where is the 400 billion dollars in tithes taken from African Americans in the last 30 plus years?

Crops wouldn't grow under the conditions. The depression started before FDR was even president.

hahahahaha Just when I thought you couldn't make up something more absurd, I was wrong. They were plowed under to keep prices up and get rid of surpluses.

Again government caused the Great Depression. FDR prolonged it.

Blah, blah, blah ... If you'd do a little research on why there's a federal Department of Education, why there's a federal highway system, why there are federal social safety nets and agricultural programs and environmental regulations, you'd have the answer to all your ridiculous questions and premises.

There is no free lunch. If the states pick up all the functions of the federal govermment, aside from the military, state taxes will go up.

Invested in the community? Why are you singling out African-Americans?

Ah, you make everything so simplistic. Are the multiple reasons for agricultural control during the Depression too complex for you?

Default The war on poor people continues ...

Do you not understand that you are taxing the person who paid to have the roads by way of taxes, that they will get taxed again? They are not paying less, but more. The only way not to get taxed again is to not donate their money to the church.

You're also lobbying to have only the rich man's church available to the cities. Because we all bloody well know that a poor man's church is not going to be able to afford taxes. (establishing a religion)

Now one could argue that if only the rich man's church survive the tax man, rich and poor man would have to worship in the same church, there by creating a unity of the two classes. Only in a perfect world.

Greenville-area churches, charities brace for decline in giving with 2018 tax overhaul
Quote:
"Even though people will not say a tax deduction impacts how they give, models show that even for people who give to religious organizations — churches, synagogues or mosques — there's even a change there with the tax change," Campbell said. "It's not that they don’t give; they just give a little less. Deductions make them give that extra $100 or $1,000, wherever they are financially."

That is why the church is exempt from property taxes.

Churches are exempt because they fall under the same category as say the Little League and non profit Colleges/Universities. If you are going to tax church property you would need to tax the Little League....

I have no idea if Little Leagues even own property. Do you?

Where I played was in city owned parks.
