It’s much higher than that if you account for the social costs of religion: willful ignorance, low science education standards, irrational fears, the encouragement of low IQ people to have more children, etc.

If you tax one non-profit organization, you're going to have to tax them all. That includes government, churches, charities, etc etc etc etc.

The real cost is the impact the church has on the secular world, laws, Govt policy, etc.

We are not that far off from the days of burning suspected witches on the stake.
