This entire duplicitous fiasco that Trump is heading is what you get when you elect someone who has never had to take responsibility for anything in his life, who has been allowed to skate for any misdeeds with a glib smile and smarmy charm and the "appearance" of wealth--because as we found out, he was lying to Barron's about his wealth just to climb the list of moneyed men...
His mentor was Roy Cohn who was about as dirty an attorney as could be--
That is who Trump regards as a "good" attorney---someone who was complicit in blacklisting Americans, who supported McCarthy a truly nasty politician who managed to use Trump's same tactics to prey on and amplify basically non-existant fears of Communists among us--
Trump uses the concept of the dangerous illegals.

Trump's history proves he thinks he really is above the law--his quote about shooting someone in full view and getting off is evidence of that--well before he became POTUS
He has run the gamut of smutty crimes--
Marital rape--threatened her with his political power in NYC and his wealth to cut her off and she caved--so nothing done to him
In fact they are best buds now--he made her an ambassador...

All the other women he sexually harassed--used wealth and power just like Weinstein and all the others who do it to get away with it

Screwing over his construction deals -- money and local power once again get him off
And doing deals with the mobs--American and Russian were just every day at the office for him

He is a 330 lb Baby Huey that no one has said no to...
He has no clue what the role of "White House counsel" really is---
he is so dumb and he is being played for the patsy by Putin and others who are using his ego against him...

Anyone who followed the campaign might have seen a speech Trump was going to make a a black church---a situation where he felt very out of place I am sure--
The woman minister interrupted Trump when he tried to go into his rote campaign speech and firmly told him that was not why he was asked to speak there that day
The video of Trump's chagrin, his deference, his totally uncharacteristic almost-cowed behavior showed that when people he knew he can't control take him to task, he doesn't rebel or act out---he takes the repremand and backs off. His bluster is throttled because he is intimidated.

Too bad the GOP didn't understand that you deal with a bully from an attitude of strength vs trying to placate him...

LOL. I wonder how much longer it will take before Trump starts calling McGahn a "rat". I'm guessing two weeks to a month.

He already did.
By comparing the situation to John Dean and speaking like a street trash mafia boss.
God help us and move congress to remove this abomination.

Is McGahn's attorney the one assigned by the GOP leadership to decide which of Kavenaugh's past government papers are provided for his judicial review by the Senate?

Reporters are saying the WH spent all morning denying the story, then trump tweeted it out.

I think they're all starting to believe their own lies.

i don't believe this was written by trump:

"White House Counsel Don McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall, shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court. I have worked with Don for a long time and truly appreciate his service!"

it was complimentary, got the capitalization correct and wasn't focused on trump.

Grassley sent a tweet begging trump not to let him go. Why do all these people communicate with trump via Twitter or on TV? Couldn't they just, you know, go talk to him?
