How is it fair to have different property tax rates for commercial property owners? Prop 13 needs to stay just as it is. I remember when it was passed by a landslide. People were being taxed out of their homes due to skyrocketing real estate values. People grumble about old neighbor Joe paying lower property taxes than them, but don't realize that prop 13 also protects them by limiting yearly tax increases to 2%. Also, if they stay in their homes long enough they can brag about their lower tax bills too. I just don't like the idea of singling out one group of people for different treatment under the law. Not cool.

California has to raise their property, sales, and income taxes now. If you want nice things you have to pay for them.

LOL, 10.3% middle-class state income tax rate, 10.25% sales tax rates, extremely high property taxes.

Wyoming has no middle-class state income tax, 5% sales tax in Gillette and very low property taxes.

I guess those millions and millions of poor families from all over the world that have rushed to California for welfare have caused the need to raise taxes.

These big, liberal cities are just overwhelmed by millions of non-productive people who make a career out of having one baby after another while in poverty, illegal aliens and refugees.

Guess, 860,000 signatures for higher property taxes already.

Lots of tax increases already in the ballots in 2018 and they are already getting ready for more in 2020.

Californians already pay European level taxes when state and local taxes plus federal are included, they don't need proposition 13 overhauls with higher taxes that will just go to pensions and administrators.

In my opinion, California with it's 10.3% middle-class income tax for the 54,000th dollar of taxable income and above and many cities with 10.25% sales tax rates plus already very high property taxes is enough already.

I guess if the liberals are trying to push seniors out of their homes, just because they are jealous that they have so much home equity because they bought in the 1960s and 1970s.

A liberal never met a tax he didn't like.
Reason # 853 to never move to California.
