Uh, this is a thread about the failure of socialism in Venezuela.
It's not about Trump, so take your Trump Derangement Syndrome somewhere else.

The Socialist Party (French: Parti socialiste, PS) is a social-democratic[2][3][4][5][6] French-speaking political party in Belgium. As of the 2014 elections, it is the second largest party in the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and the largest Francophone party.
Perhaps it matters not what they call themselves. Even your link clarifies their approach is in fact Social Democracy, not a Socialist system.

Socialism means government owning the means of production. You are referring to social services. Universal healthcare is a social service, while SS is social insurance.

I don't watch Fox. But I get why personal attack is all that you have in response to this.

The number one main reason for Venezuela's current woes is explained in an excellent Backgrounder by Danielle Renwick of the Council for Foreign Relations:

An Oil-Based Economy
Call it what you want. The fact is Venezuela had a thriving oil industry until they nationalized it. They kicked out the people that knew what they were doing and installed politically connected people in their place. They used the oil profits for such perks as 10 cent a gallon gasoline, housing subsidies and whatever else they could spend it. On top of that they basically mortgaged the industry so they could give away even more free ****.

Meanwhile back on earth the industry was crashing and burning, literally in some cases.

Typical American workers won't accept being taxed at those rates, so we can't have Northern Europe's government-provided social programs.
Then why be dishonest about it and call it Democratic Socialism?

Which is why you don't hear people nationalizing a commodity based industry. Smarter countries (democratic socialist and theocratic) created sovereign wealth funds with their oil wealth while Venezuela mismanaged theirs.

Because you created an intentionally misleading opening sentence, otherwise you are merely ignorant of the terminology. Would you like for me to tell you where you made your error?
