Trump has brought a culture of corruption to DC.

Pretty much guilty. The amount it takes to bring an elected official up on charges. If it comes that far, it's about as close to a slam dunk as you get.

I think we should expect punishment for anyone breaking the law regardless of party/affiliation.

I also think we need to tighten up campaign finance laws, make financial trading laws much stricter of congressmen, and have mush stricter rules for them having family members who are lobbyists. One person in the family gets elected and all of a sudden you see 5 family members become in demand lobbyists- how does that pass the smell test?

I say that with absolute certainty that people with my political leanings, to my left and to my right would all go down. In the words of Ross Geller 'ugh, ugh, ugh, fine by me!'

What a turd. People didn't give him money to go on luxury vacations with it, they gave him the money to campaign to beat his opponent.

Per Fox News:

Rep. Duncan Hunter, wife indicted on corruption charges in California | Fox News

The congressman's lawyers said in 2017 that Hunter and his wife repaid the campaign about $60,000.
Okay, why would he need to repay the campaign? That statement indicates that he took money from the campaign for other reasons than campaigning, and then repaid it.

He's claiming that it's "politically motivated"...that may be true, but if he did what he's accused of doing, then he's a big part of the problem in DC and needs to be washed out with the rest of the scum.

You feel the same way about Hillary? I kind of doubt you do.

The left amazes me sometimes. You cackle any time a Republican gets caught doing something, but when a Democrat does something, the left makes excuses and lashes out.

How about this: ANYONE in DC who is corrupt needs to go. We have a big problem with people coming into government with very little money, but then becoming rather wealthy while serving, or living like they are wealthy, and that is from both sides of the aisle.

These are public servants. The pay is not that great. How is it that some of these people are millionaires now having done a public servant's job for X amount of years? It's not because they "invested wisely", it's because we have corruption in every facet of our government.

The fact that you chortle like you won something is stupid. You're picking up the trash in one corner of the room and calling it "clean" while completely ignoring all of the trash still sitting all over the rest of the floor.

As doc said earlier on, it doesn't matter what party the person represents, if they are getting kickbacks, illegally using campaign funds for personal use, selling uranium to a foreign state to fatten up their own bank account, etc, they all need to go. ALL of them.

From the indictment:

"Throughout the relevant period the Hunters spent substantially more than they earned. They overdrew their bank account 1,100 times in a seven-year period resulting in approximately $37,761 in "overdraft" and "insufficient funds" bank fees. Their credit cards were frequently charged to the credit limit, often with five-figure balances resulting in approximately $24,600 in finance charges, interest, and other fees related to late, over the limit, and returned payment fees"

That is just appalling.

Hunter is a disgusting piece of excrement! He also blamed a $1,200 video game purchase on his son! This a-whole has no sense of personal responsibility.

By California election law, it is too late for the GOP to replace Hunter with a different candidate. His district in San Diego is pretty heavily red as it went 15 points in Trump's favor in 2016. Too bad the Democrat running is pretty left/progressive....a blue dog Democrat could have a real shot at this seat in November.
It's even worse than it sounds. His wife wanted him to buy the clothes, but he didn't have cash, and they have the text messages of her telling him to buy them at the Golf Shop so they could claim it was for Wounded Warriors. They knew what they were doing, and they chose to target the Wounded Warriors so that he could have nice clothes for a vacation.

His Steam purchases and Aliases are hilarious. He used names such as 'Jew fusion' and 'build that wall,' while gaming more than the average Teen.

The evidence presented in the indictment makes this an open and shut case.
He isn't going to trial. He'll try to plead guilty for lesser charges, and maybe to protect his wife.

I hope they don't accept it. Not only did she know, she was complicit, and seems to have been the brains behind the operation.
If it'll make you happier, they can put her in the cell that you're keeping empty for Hilary.
