This Manafort thing is particularly disturbing. Trump exclaiming Manafort is a brave man, refusing to break under pressure and flipping should be illegal and dancing around a potential pardon , blah, blah, blah.

Or is it just another deflection? No doubt Manafort is slime but thus far that slime does not have anything to do with Trump. It’s possible, Manafort has nothing useful to trade. Hmm
My theory about Manafort is he has a lot to say...but he is more afraid of the Russians than Trump. So he keeps his mouth shut and takes his penance.

How can the president get out of this mess? Resign. Even then, maybe not. He could be prosecuted for multiple crimes. Even with resignation, it is too late for him to just go back to business as usual (before he decided to run for president.) I'd say he's jumped the shark; its all down hill from here.

If we wait till the midterms, if we lose, then the Left can block this bill in the house of Congress that they win. And if they move to impeach and RINOs go along with them, then they have eviscerated the US Constitution and deposed a lawful President on bogus charges.

I do realize that Congress might not be able to pass such a bill (due to treachery) but that also actually works in our favor before the midterms because any "Republican" voting no against it will have outed himself/herself as a swamprat and we can vote his/her butt out at the midterms by voting third party as we can tell that they can't be trusted at all.

Also, if we go this route and lose the midterms, the thing would go into the court and might be able to stop any impeachment attempts or overturn them if they were ruled upon.
Court costs are a small price to pay to keep his finger off the button.

There is nothing redeeming about this president. He manipulated the system and conspired with Russia. He stabs people in the back and kisses the ass of the enemy. Putin is delighted. He chuckles under his breath when he meets with the president and has a permanent grin on his face when he thinks of how gullible the American public are. Aren't you even slightly suspicious?

You have right to your views but offering a theory on a way to underhandedly subvert justice demonstrates how misguided the president's supporters are.

Sorry, Hugger. There's nothing Trump can do to stop it now. Anything he attempts will start impeachment proceedings.

Take some time and read some stuff on Watergate. It will explain to you why he can't do anything and has to allow events to take their course.

So far, Trump has done nothing that Nixon didn't try except for being completely silent. That's the only Nixon tactic he hasn't yet tried.
Since silence didn't work for Nixon, I don't expect it would work for Trump any better, and I doubt that Trump is capable of silence, which may be a good thing, since it only dragged out the Watergate investigations.
