Any Republican could have picked a conservative judge.
But ya'll picked the Republican who paid off porn stars right before an election.
That's on you.
Any other republican would have lost to the Clinton machine. So it's a moot point. Nominate an imperfect Donald Trump and have someone who will punch back harder than the punches that Crooked Hillary and the media are giving him....and win. Or nominate the same old same old, a la Romney and McCain - and lose 50% to 48%. I'd say that Trump was the right guy at the right time.
The big deal is that you (Trump supporters) are justifying cheating. Of course at first, it was all fake news and a big lie. Now that what many have already suspected or known is being corroborated as truth, the only path you can take is simply accepting it. Go figure. If Clinton had won, maybe there might have been an investigation and if she is guilty of crimes against the country, she should be made to answer for them. But she didn't. Trump won. And now he has to answer for his criminal acts.
The ends don't justify the means. Most mature people have learned this. Trump hasn't.
Whomever runs in 2020, I've already trademarked:

<insert name here> 2020: Totally Decent Human Being!â„¢
You'd think that would be a low bar, but as we have learned in the past few years, Totally Decent Human Beings are truly rare.
Here's the deal. You don't care who politicians screw. Many of us don't care about the sex lives of politicians. But some people do. Trump, the politician in question here, wanted to get the votes of people who do care about politicians' sex lives. That's why he brought up Clinton's sex life during the campaign, going so far as to bring out these women to one of the debates. TRUMP knew that some of his base did care. And knowing that, he didn't want his own sexual escapades to come out during the campaign. He needed the votes of people who would care, so he sought to hide his history from them, even while taking aim at his opponent's husband (hypocrite, much?). He was willing to pay hush money to hide that history. And he did.
Then, when it came out after he won the election, he denied it. (Liar, much?) He denied having the affairs, then, okay, he had affairs, but he didn't know about any hush money, then, okay, he had paid hush money to keep the affairs secret, but it was his own money, then, okay, it was his lawyer's money to begin with, but he'd reimbursed the lawyer, so he's good, but his lawyer's a vile piece of horse puckey that no one should pay any attention to.
He lied to YOU, his supporters. He lies every day. And no, politicians aren't known for being truthful, which is one of the reasons what they say and do is scrutinized so closely. Americans don't trust their politicians. We want to know the truth.
You are trying to minimize the issues. But at issue here is a President who didn't know the laws when he ran his campaign, broke the laws, lied about breaking the laws, points the finger at everyone else, and complains incessantly because what he says and does is scrutinized.

It's this dishonest assessment of the issues with vague one-liners which is why people cannot get behind democrats on any of this.
For starters, Donald Trump never ran his campaign on being the evangelical prototype Christian. Anyone who's been alive for more than 30 years knows that he has never been the blueprint for that.
He did, however agree to uphold and back specific moral issues that are up for legislation (i.e abortion, antilegalization of marijuana, support for law enforcement etc) which is in contrast to what Dem candidates were voting on which was the complete opposite. Trump was the lesser of two evils in that regard. When Trump brought up Bill Clinton's affairs during the campaign it was a direct reaction to Hillary who brought his affairs to the forefront. It was a costly political maneuver that backfired. Because, again, anyone who was alive for the last 30 years KNEW that the Clintons were the LAST people to hold the moral ground on any of that.
You can go on and on about "lying" about paying hush money to a porn star. You can print it in big bold black letter on the headlines of the NYTs, or the Washington Post...you can have stand up comedians make observant jokes about it on your nightly talk shows...you can have rappers rap about it, you can have your Robert Dinero led "f*ck Trump" rallies..., you can wear all the vagina hats and manufacture all the protest marches that you like...I simply don't care.
I voted on the issues of trade negotiations with China, renegotiating our nuclear deal with Iran, pulling out of the Paris Accord, and the TPP ...i voted on the issue to bringing back corporate revenues from overseas (via the tax cuts), I voted on a the need for a robust economy, I voted on having conservative majority justices, I voted on his platform of immigration reform...and to a lesser extent on slicing Obama care. I voted on his support for our Troops and our law enforcement.
I did NOT vote for him based on whether or not he attends church regularly or at all (I couldn't care less if he did or didn't).
The ONLY thing that I want him to do more about which was a BIG one for me was congressional term limits...which McConnell shot down almost immediately during his first 6 months. ( I personally want McConnel gone because of that).
I voted on the issues, MOST of us did. If we wanted a strict moralist boy scout we would've wanted Mitt Romney in there.
How doesn't that register with some of you???
The tabloid blaring headlines just don't do anything for me. Especially coming from a party that that continuously lies and misleads the public about it while covering up and burring their own corruption.

So Hillary hides her emails and makes it impossible to discover all her actions as SOS and Trump does the same hiding what he did in his personal life by paying people off. Is anyone really surprised politicians cheat to win elections?
It seems like whenever the economy is booming, the opposition resorts to investigating the Presidents private life.
the difference is that what hillary did was in fact illegal. a public official has to disclose their electronic communications for public consumption since they are in fact public record.
what trump did is NOT illegal. paying someone to keep quiet about an affair is perfectly legal and none of anyones business, especially since at the time trump was indeed a private citizen. so what if he paid a couple of bimbos to keep quiet about an affair that they had?
