Even Mueller and the investigators, I'm sure, are scratching their heads and thinking "I knew it was bad, but never thought they were this bold and bad".....so sad. We need to start hanging traitors again and also go to a VAT or other than an "honor" tax system because these people are stealing from ALL of us taxpayers and selling our country down the river.

I mean - it's obvious...you can't trust wealthy Americans to pay their fair share.

Good think Trump owns a condo building because, unlike Nixon, he won't have to be disallowed by a NYC co-op board after he leaves office.

People are going to want to stay far away from him.....but maybe he'll do reality TV again. America loves ex-felons as long as they are white. Buddy Ciani found a great home in the Republican Party after he was released from Club Fed for Corruption.

The criminal target is obviously Trump and his crime family.
I do wonder if Trump has been upgraded from “Subject of an Investigation” to a “Target.”

Considering the current crop of corruption is being handled by SDNY, and the State of NY is now in play- I’d say Mueller has pretty much stayed in his lane...

But the Trumpers are all ‘BOO-HOO, *sniff-sniff*, only we’re allowed to have investigations into Democrats, NOT THEM!!’

God what a bunch of babies.
Exactly my point. When a Dem is on the hot seat it's all OK. Muller's Special Counsel prosecutor reach just didn't happen over night it's been there all along seldomly called upon. But you have all the Trump supports cry fowl and and won't let the man conclude his investigation where ever it may lead.

If the President did nothing wrong then he's got nothing to worry about.

Dbones and his ilk have long dropped that line of thinking. Now it's "Everybody does it, so it's really unfair to punish our guys just because they got caught!"

Where this ends, I do not know. But here is where my line of thought is.....

Trump, the private citizen, businessman, existed "quietly" (from a legal POV) in the private sphere for decades. The legality of whatever his fortune was and the sources of it were largely off the radar for 40 years. He had a nice stint on reality TV that brought him back from the abyss that was the 1980s for him. Post the Apprentice, he existed with his twitter megaphone as a member of the club of celebrity. He seemingly had it (re) made. He took potshots at politicians as many a private citizen can and do. But that all changed at 2011 White House Correspondents dinner.

At that event, the POTUS, who also happened to be the first Black POTUS, had the audacity to filet and roast Donald Von Twitter in a manner that caught nearly everyone off guard. This public humiliation could not go unanswered. It must be avenged. But how can you avenge being made a fool by the Leader of the Free World? Barking on twitter as merely a businessman doesn't have any pizzazz, no elan, no dash. It lacks any tangible substance and his ego couldn't take that.

He ran because of it and has made much of his Administration's priorities focused on erasing Obama's Presidential existence from the history books. He will always be there as 44, but his policy impact will be expunged where possible.

What he failed to account for in his seething, blinding desire to get back at this injustice is that as politician, the scrutiny of your existence prior to the present will be looked at, dug into, reviewed in a manner a private citizen can simply skip on by. For better or worse, justice in our country whistles passed the graveyard when it comes to white collar crime until whistling passed is no longer an option.

Donald Von Twitter is now facing that reality and its a reality he knew would come, just too late in the game to pivot to avoid it; much like the Titanic. The ultimate proof to this reader is his reaction and the look on his face backstage in NY the moment his EC win was realized on national TV. What should have been, and is, for everyone who has ever reached that level (POTUS-elect) the crowning achievement of their life; filled with joy and excitement, looked for the world to see like a moment of impending doom and realization.

He knew where the roads could and probably would lead, but like the Titanic, had slipped passed the point of no return.

YMMV.

This is probably why Melania was crying on election night. They did not want this level of scrutiny in their lives. Ultimately Trump didn't expect to actually win, so he didn't think he would get it.

I tend to agree.

In the words of Rick James, Pride is a helluva drug.

At least she hasn’t referred to Mueller, prosecutors and Democrats as “infidels” yet.

But the operative word is “yet”.

For Trump the entire exercise was about touting his brand. To be known as "former presidential candidate Donald Trump". To go on talk shows and bloviate as if he had some credibility since he was a "former presidential candidate". And all the while claiming the election was rigged in favor of "crooked Hilary". Well, it didn't turn out that way.
