John has been absent for about a year now, is that right? Anyway, it seems like a long time. I'm not sure how it all works, but the sooner the governor appoints someone the better. Arizona needs to be represented.
May he have a peaceful passing surrounded by family and friends. He didn't deserve Trump's trash talk about his service in the military or in the senate.
Mixed feelings on McCain - I respect his service, but he was a DC lifer - a career politician, ran a lousy campaign in '08, and would likely have made a poor president. Still we can say thank you for the service.

It wasn't a case of McCain running a bad campaign or being a lifer in 2008, it was the bad feelings we got from the Republican Party due to the Bush wars, Katrina and the economic crisis as well as the handling of the bailout. I defy anyone to name a single Republican who would have won against the Perfect Storm that was Obama.

Exactly. The Republicans could have ran the corpse of Ronald Reagan and they still would have lost in 2008.
