Yeah too clever by half. lol
I often disagree with many of the political talking heads on both sides of the aisle, but I must concur with the lot of them in assuming (correctly) that Trump is simply too moronic to use the Kavanaugh circus to his advantage. For someone who claimed to be "draining the swamp," he has nominated 2 elitist, out-of-touch Federalist-sanctioned reactionaries to the highest court of the land. Both were effectively born connected, silver spoons. Neither Gorsuch or Kavanauagh have a populist bone in their bodies.

A smart politician would withdraw the nominee and submit a candidate who resembles something like what people saw in Trump -- sticking up for the little guy (i.e. pro-working class), anti-free trade, anti-globalism/establishment, etc. Tit-for-tat: I gave you Gorsuch, now I get a "Trumpster." Why doesn't he? Because he is surrounded by sycophants and seriously unhinged 4th-tier-politicos.

Trump doesn't exert his will over the Republican establishment and it shows.

Yep, the "Creepy Porn Lawyer" just couldn't stay away from jumping in front of TV cameras with a wild arse story.
His case with the Porn star is waining and off the front pages so he just HAD to do something in an attempt to make himself relevant again...

Default Liberal hysteria proves they are desperate.

Kamala Harris, you are the sham. You are a fraud. You slept your way into politics through the Willie Brown bedroom. Shame on you for ignoring the lies and deception in your own party. Your sanctimonious posturing is quite transparent.

Any woman who lies about sexual assault and becomes a political pawn does NOT help any woman or child. Ford's story of her incident with a teen boy at a party 35 years ago might be true, but there is no evidence that Kavanaugh was ever at the party. And liberals don't want to know the truth. They just want people to believe the lie that Kavanaugh was the guy.

But the good news is, liberal politicians have ruined their chances to be viewed as the people with integrity. And they have no more stunts like this to pull with the next candidate. They can't try this again--crying wolf too many times has backfired on Democrats and the New York Times. They have lost their last shred of any credibility they might have had.

My parents and grandparents were all Democrats. I was a registered Democratic voter in California and other states for many years. When it became obvious that the Democratic leadership had lost their integrity and moral compass several years ago, I left the Democratic Party.

He won't withdraw.

He believes he is owed this position and/or that he was born for it.
I've got the feeling that he did some shady stuff over the years and was promised this seat in return.

From the mysterious elimination of his debt to the house well above his pay grade, there's been all sorts of quid pro quo and machinations going on behind the scenes to get this guy on the bench.

He's not going anywhere.

Oh, good lord.

That's not what I meant at all.

I meant that all the men who should be so worried (as that is what the post was about in the first place, the one I replied to) should conduct themselves better in mixed company.

Quit looking for some smoking gun crap that's not there.

the dems thought so from day one........dems refused to even investigate

Senator Thom Tillis went after Senate Judiciary Democrats for refusing to participate in the Republicans’ investigation in the allegations of sexual misconduct levied against Brett Kavanaugh during his testimony in front of the committee on Thursday.

“We were moving heaven and Earth and even moving the schedule to get to the truth. We are doing an investigation. We’re doing our best. I hope that the American people who are watching this will go out to the Senate Judiciary website and take a look at this chronology. Take a look at the lack of investigation on the part of the people who want the investigation, it doesn’t make a lot of sense. Every opportunity you have to go and question a witness, every opportunity that we’ve had to find more truth and to find more facts, we have done it. It’s documented. We’ve got sworn statements. We are doing our job, we’re doing the committee work.”

With this confirmation "hearing", we've become the laughing stock of the world. Ram-rodding an overtly partisan judge onto the SCOTUS, so that he can legislate from the bench shows that without a doubt our process is broken beyond repair.

Trump has indeed proven that he is King, which was his goal from day 1. The toadies in Congress that will vote Trump's golden boy Kavanaugh into office don't represent us in any way. Rather, they perform like puppets at the beck and call of an egomaniacal President. When Kavanaugh gets confirmed to the SCOTUS, this will be a turning point for the USA - we will never be the same. He will work tirelessly to support the rights of the wealthy and powerful, at the expense of the underclass in the heartland, the very people that paved the way for his ascendance to the court.
