I saw the hearing. That was a man fighting for his name and his integrity. The way dems and the media have treated him since this "allegation" came to light is nauseating.
He was out of line and apologized because he knew he was being an a**. The senator was not badgering him, politely asked a relevant question that he refused to answer then he mocked her while still refusing to answer. That is NOT the way to clear his name.
It's a win-win. Mostly for the GOP. Net result, it's one step closer to final. It's out of committee. It's one vote away. It also allows the GOP to go into mid-terms saying they do want the truth and allowed the FBI to investigate. It also allows the Dems to claim success in getting an FBI investigation. But if they don't abide by the scope limits and try to delay further in one week, they will appear as even more dishonest.
I would agree with you if we hadn’t just seen in the last year how corrupt and biased the leadership in the FBI is. NO WAY the FBI can do an investigation in a week — this is the government we are talking about, they are not expedient.....
Of course Ford was scared to appear. Wouldn't you be scared if all you had were baseless accusations, not supported by anyone else? You couldn't pay me to appear under those conditions.
It sounds like Flake was cornered first by some protesters in the elevator, and then by some Democrats. He promised them something he knew was not up to him to deliver. This overture by him apparently allowed him to become uncornered.
Now that the nomination is on to full Senate, McConnell and the Trump administration will likely come up with someone at the FBI to review the status of the current investigation and to discuss what additional procedures might reasonably be performed by the FBI, if any. If there is anything else that the FBI recommends to be done, then they can do that. Then they can get agreement from Flake that the FBI has done all they can and should, and hold the vote. It may be that this can be achieved by tomorrow or Sunday.
Security needs to be provided for Jeff Flake from now on, since he is being so frequently accosted and is not comfortable with these confrontations.
This looks strange, but it may not be so difficult to manage at the end of the day.
Thank you, for acknowledging and supporting what is "real truth".... sadly, the mass of Right Winger's will gloss over it, because they've never cared about truth, or facts, getting in the way of their agenda.
"The Acts" in the era of today... continue to point to and demonstrate the downfall of the "white male dominance they have engaged for centuries" and they fight by every means to try and prolong it, and in many cases trying to create a repeat of the past.
People are much more aware and much more motivated not to fall for such madness going into the future. Most of these old die hard right wingers that spew their "ancient lusting" on this site, only demonstrates the outgrowth of the madness and malice that was groomed into them long ago, with their want to white privilege, white male dominance and aims to subjugate women and minorities to their intent to force their "Submit and Comply" agenda upon and against the minorities and women.
Their old game of "denigrate" anyone who does not "Submit and Comply"... is drawing to a close, not only in America, but in the Global Community... Other nations are not falling for that madness anymore, nor will they accept being damaged by it.

The Democrats are laughing at them in this back room....they know exactly what they are doing.
They know that there is NO WAY to "limit the scope" of an FBI investigation.
They know that they will get a windfall of allegations that go on forever and a bunch of "what abouts" to create doubts about it.
the GOP will not gain turn ONE Democrat even with this "investigation" no matter what the final report says, how do they not see this? They are going to vote down the party line no matter what.
They cut to C-Span 3 which I couldn't view, but I am reading that Sen. Coons said that the FBI should also investigate anything else that comes up within this week. Of course! Roll 'em out!! LOL!
