One thing is for sure - anyone who doesn't drill it into their kids' heads that they should NEVER EVER EVER go to a party with people they don't know, and God forbid drink - is really missing a golden opportunity for a teaching moment. Line your kids up in front of the TV and make them watch these proceedings.
I guess yearbook entries have probably been replaced by social media. Whatever. Be sure you know exactly what they are saying and doing and "documenting" at all times. Because anything they do, or are perceived as doing, or are simply accused of doing, as a teen, is likely to really come back and bite them - 30 or more years later.
Wow. Couldn't be further from the truth ! It can take months to get to a trial because you are innocent until proven guilty in this country.

this is common sense.....I'm a guy and grew up in the 80's...I never went to a party or houses alone with people I don't know without at least 1 friend to back me up. If I was a woman, I would be extra careful.
It never crossed my head to see a house party with people I don't know or I'm not friends with and tell myself, hmmmmm I need to go in that house for whatever reason, somebody in there that got my attention....yeah that sounds like fun!!!!
