Yes that is the key, democrats now refuse to agree to those terms during this hearing and want to request all documents related to Brett's time in the Bush White House when they didn't want Kagan's documents from her time in the Obama White House to be requested.

Republican Thom Tillis just finished talking about how he was honored to be in Kavanaugh's presence and that he would be voting to confirm him because he's a good judge who will "call balls and strikes."
Tillis also said he would be asking Kavanaugh some questions later about his decisions. Why bother asking questions about legal minutiae when you've already announced your vote? Dogs and ponies.
