He's actually been fairly good through this entire process given what he's got to work with. He's being forced to walk a very fine line because of the upcoming midterms. He can't go scorched Earth like a lot of us want him to.
That was my impression too. It was like she was saying “help me”. My takeaway, as far as she went, was that she was there to support her husband and was concerned about all this was impacting her daughters.
The left believes that when a husband steps in to help his wife he is being sexist.

At one point during the BK-Fox interview, Brett apparently cut his wife short when she attempted to answer a question about if there should be an FBI investigation.
The abruptness of his interruption seems to have hit a cord among women.
He didn't cut her short. He came to her rescue when she clearly didn't know what to say.
Last week they wanted a vote and hearing, no FBI investigation now they want to postpone and want an FBI investigation, but not Mark Judge the accuser.
I am hoping that when this is over, and it should be soon; that the lying scumbags who perpetrated this farce, and are allowing this to go on will get the swift punishment they so deserve.
Do they have a remote idea of the terrible harm they are causing to Judge Kavanaugh's wife and daughters? Yes! they do and they don't give a hoot; they are enjoying their 'theatrics' they've been dreaming up for months. Now we even have a scumbag lawyer 'Avennati who represents porn stars and prostitutes spreading his filthy ideas as well. Yuh … he's some upstanding guy 'eh.
This is disgusting and some strong punishment must be meted out to the liars and fakers involved in this detestable politically motivated fraud. What they are doing to this family and our country is sinful. I felt so bad watching the interview of Mr. and Mrs. Kavanaugh and their painful responses. Thank you Sen. How are you so sure Kavanaugh is innocent? I'm not saying he's guilty; I don't know whether he is or not. And you don't either. Being a Trump/Kavanaugh supporter doesn't give you any inside information. The only people who know for sure if the man is guilty are Judge Kavanaugh and Dr. Blasey.
But let's assume you're right. Let's assume for a moment that Dr. Blasey is lying through her teeth and making this whole thing up. If she's making it up and Kavanaugh's family supports him (and they should already,) his relationship with them won't be harmed. The family should be a strong unit in the first place and Wife and Daughters Kavanaugh should stand by their man. Right? And if the family actually suspects he committed the deed, Kavanaugh has more problems than a sexual assault allegation from 35 years ago.

You don't know that. Extreme stress can do a lot of damage to a relationship, the cause of the stress doesn't matter it's the stress that does it.
