I was replying to the sentiment that only rich people benefit from the stock market.

Yes, Trump’s tariff crap has subdued the bull market.

No fan of either Trump or Obama. Obama had a Republican Congress after 2010 he needs to share ant credit or blame with the Congress

I assume you are talking about the Dow Jones index.....When was the record high? I must have missed it....It was pegged at 26,071 on Jan 26th, and 25,790 Aug 24th...

It's the S&P 500 that hit the new record, the Dow's record is still the one back in late January.

You can tell things are serious because the stock market . . . hit a record high! Strange how, aside from the Cheerleaders of the Tape at CNBC, we heard so little about this during the Week of Trump’s Doom.

...
Actually a close look—and the data back this up—shows that what is really holding the market back from even bigger gains at the moment is the fear and uncertainty about how the trade tensions Trump has unleashed will play out.

Congrats for the efforts of the people.

Trump gets credit for unclogging the flow by reducing regulations and putting America first.
Oh dear -- i guess you were busy that day.It was all over the news.

Longest bull market every -- 3453 days -- wow -- that's like 10 years almost -- Hey wait a minute Trump has been President for a year and a half. Gee heck I wonder who was president for the 8 plus years of that bull market.....WOW

Oh I thought it was the longest bull market ---- almost 10 years -- that's amazing Trump's regulations impacted the market that far back.

He really is special.

S&P and Nasdaq hit all time highs as well

The benchmark S&P 500 index closed at an all-time high, just two days after the current bull market in U.S. stocks became the longest in history. The Nasdaq composite and the Russell 2000 indexes also ended the day at all-time highs

When some of these trade issues clear out, watch out.
