Did the DNC also make the Republican challenger use the words "monkey this up" instead of something like "scr*w this up"? Hint: your opponent can't "use the race card" if you don't give him the deck of cards.

This should put to an end the effort to escalate the use of the term monkey by Ron Desantis into "monkeygate".

Only the most hardened, foaming at the mouth racists will continue to hold out, as they cannot stop themselves.
Isn't it ironic that Gary Hart (D), who ran for President in 1988, unraveled his own dreams on a boat called "Monkey Business"?

......Several newspapers did just that, finding, among other things, this photo of Hart with model Donna Rice on a yacht named Monkey Business.

People like Gillum run around indiscriminately hurling the race card every day, regardless of what their opponents do. And you can say what you want to about this, but I am confident that you know it.

All you have to do is explain how you've repeatedly used the phrase "monkey up" in your lifetime. We've all used the work "monkey". I don't know a single person who has used the phrase "monkey up".

Because Obama used the phrase 'monkeyed around' all those streets and schools named for him need to be immediately renamed and his portrait should be removed from the White House!

Do I think DeSantis is a racist? No, he's probably not.

But because his opponent is a black man and considering the hypersensitive world we live in today, was using a phrase that included the work "monkey" a bad idea? Yes, a terrible idea.

I sure hope so. The great thing about Florida is that we are dominated by Cuban Americans, and DeSantis is a Cuban American descendant from his father's side, and he will have the votes from the Cuban American voters, pretty much how Republican Marco Rubio has their votes. I do find it funny though, I tried to find links to DeSantis parentage, and Google mysteriously doesn't have any. They just list DeSantis as American.

And don't forget, mass majority of Cubans hated Obama when he banned the wet foot, dry foot. One of my best friends is a Cuban American gay man, who always voted democrat because of him being gay, but the second Obama did that, he stopped supporting democrats and will hate Obama and anyone who supports him. I dislike Obama, but never hated him, but my Cuban friends want the man dead, that is how much they hate Obama.

Even all of the liberal leaning newspapers thought Obama banning wet foot, dry foot, was not such a good idea, and it was a betrayal to all Cubans who are trying to flee communist Fidel Castro's reign.

This latest "controversy" illustrates why when Democrats cry racism, it falls on deaf ears.

They cry wolf over and over and over and over again.

It really detracts from actual racism that may occur.

This is what black people claim over and over is institutional racism, that white people fail to recognize even when they do it. It is actual racism, not the lynching kind, but a subtle, nuanced kind.

DeSantis was using a dog whistle to attract the attention and votes of the northern Florida non black people liking rednecks. Letting them know he's got their back while allowing himself enough wiggle room to placate the non-redneck regular republican voter who don't want to acknowledge that sort of behavior in their camp. Worked perfectly.

If DeSantis is not doing this then he should have chosen his words more carefully because it looks like he is.

Whose turn is it to explain the concept of "context" to Spartacus713?
