The thing that is probably driving Trump nuts is that if the op-ed is right, that means his advisors have discussed among themselves the 25th amendment option. And none of those people told Trump. NONE of them. Which means more likely then not his entire cabinet thinks he is unstable-they just want to get Republican dreams passed while they can. Once he is of no use, its VERY clear they will undermine him. When the people on the right talk about "deep state" this IS the sort of thing they mean. The funny part is that its one of Trumps creation.

Democrats have not in living memory elected someone so bad that such a thing would form. And if its Pence as many suggest? Trump CANNOT fire him. People point to the lodestar word, but other words show up too. Amorality. The vast majority of Trumps advisors wouldn't even blink about being amoral. Pence is one of the few that would care about that, or think its a issue. And more importantly.....Pence would be one of the people they would have discussed using the 25th amendment with because Pence is one of the REQUIRED votes. Pence and 8 of the 15 members of the cabinet HAVE to have had this discussion for it to even be considered.

So even if Pence did not write the op-ed, he almost certainly had some folks talk to him about the 25th. And he never said a word to Trump-someone who values loyalty to him above anything.

We live in interesting times.

That is not how the news business works. That is not how anything works.

Yes. Definitely his mistake. And the author likely even really feels the way he claims, but this could also just as easily be some low level paper pusher with delusions of grandeur about his place in the White House. Someone who goes around telling everyone he works in the White House to seem important, until he has said it so much that he actually starts believing he is important, while actually having very little face time with the President. Or maybe it is someone actually important. That would make a huge difference in the validity of the story. Without a name, we dont know.

and what exactly you want Trump to respond? who are you kidding, doesn't matter how he responds, you will find any reason to be "outraged" even if he didn't say anything and ignores the story.

if anybody in his staff doesn't like his policies, they can quit.......I find this stupid.

Trump was on the ballot in 2016 not them. We voted on Trump's policies not theirs.

He would have been far ahead to dismiss the letter as "fake news" and rock on. What he has done by his response is taken a swing at a tar baby and connected.

Of course it is. It happens all the time. And if the story was some small story that wouldn’t sell many papers, it would have happened here too.

So cowardly that someone would write this anonymously, and NYT would publish it. If this person is actually someone within the WH, he/she needs to be routed out and fired.
Wouldnt this oped article be considered an expression of ones first amendment rights? For the president to have a complete melt down because some one wrote a derogatory piece about him only confirms what a colossal whiny snowflake he is , Wah wah wah

You've never worked in the media, I suspect. The Times likely asked more than once to be able to name the writer, but the source always has final say. If the Times has chosen not to print the op ed, I'm sure many others would have.

We all know that Trump has everyone sign NDA’s. Now, Trump wants the Op-Ed writer to disclose who he is

These NDA’s must not be two-way NDA’s
