Depends. In this hypothetical election, is Donald Trump running? If so, the GOP would not get my vote. I simply will not support another four years of this disastrous administration. Absolutely not. Were it a different Republican, maybe. I'd have to know more.

Keep spewing, children! Your rants probably fuel the opposition a lot more than you realize.
I find this to be common. A republican who likes to pretend he isn’t for one reason or another.

Yeah... cannot participate. I have no clue who the nominees are. I can say that I would not vote R with Trump running, since he's currently the R in office.

Hence my problem. On most social issues, I’m a lot closer to Democrats than Republicans. I think people should be able to live any way that makes them happy, as long as they don’t violate anyone else’s rights. But I believe in capitalism and law and order so that takes precedence over things like marijuana, gay marriage, abortion, etc.

How do you square opposing marijuana and gay marriage with “people should be able to live any way that makes them happy”? Which rights of yours are violated?

I think you are misreading my post. I am 100% for those things. I don’t like to see those rights to freedom violated, and I wish the Republican Party would change it’s stance. They are just less important to me than the rights that get violated by the democrats.

I'm going tribal for the Democrats in the midterms, well except for out governor. There is way too much corruption in our local democratic party. We have a two party system. A vote for anyone outside of that system is a wasted vote. I think it's time to take out some of the republican trash and if it's equally as corrupt on the democratic side, then it will be time to take out the trash on that side too.

Can you name the disasters you are talking about.

  • Jobs? - Economy is great, unemployment is low, people are hiring.
  • Economy? - Stock market is booming
  • Illegal Immigration - Trump has them on the run
  • Wars of Choice - The horrible pointless wars started by Bush & Obama & Hillary are being wound down. No new ones.
  • North Korea - Nuke program canceled/hold, they returned remains of our MIAs with military honor & dignity.
  • Outsourcing - Nafta & TPP torn up.
I'm not seeing disaster here. But maybe you can tell us more.

I agree, but if the option is that or 4 more years of Trump, I'm still voting Dem. If he is not the candidate, I will vote for divided government whichever way that means. If it looks like divided government is near certainty, I will vote for the best candidate or libertarian. I don't trust either party to do the right thing with full control. They both get 48% of the vote and then take punitive action against the other half that didn't vote for them. They act like 48% is a mandate for their most extreme policies. I'll pass.
