OP, your post is ignorant and manifests the selfish and short-sighted base attitude typical for contemporary "liberals". I know it is hard for you to understand, but some people will actually gladly pay more for consumer goods made in America by American workers. There is no utopia where you get to have your cake and eat it, too. And true patriots largely understand that. You don't! This is the price of winning and we will pay it.

Well the retired and fixed income people are not winning. The COL has gone up 40% since Jan 2017 and their SS has not gone up more than 3%. Even the motor companies, farmers and other consumer oriented businesses are saying that the consumer is/are going to be paying higher prices for this fiasco of Trumps.
And next year when you do your tax returns, unless you're one of Bone Spurs rich, you'll be paying more to the IRS than you think.

American corporations doing business in China are their own problem.

Supply chain. Look it up. It is not that simple any more.

Fun part.

2 weeks after LG and Samsung washers and dryers went up 50 to 80 dollars a unit due to tariffs...
The domestic brands followed suit. They were never interested in competing on price. They just added that money to their gross profit at the expense of consumers.

That's part of the liberal fantasy and the only kind of link that would support it.

I remember at least 3 years during Obama's terms when there was zero COL increase.

Does anyone really believe that for 3 years prices never went up. I know during those years my insurance and various other necessities increased. No COL increased to offset it.

The hypocrisy of the Left is completely astounding. Not too long ago OWS was all the rage and importing stuff from China and not buying American was sooooo bad according to the Left, now they are supporting companies operating in China and other countries. It's a really amazing thing to watch.

Of course they did. If you had a protected business and your more efficient competitor was forced to raise their prices above yours, wouldn't you follow suit? Tariffs, besides propping up and/or subsidizing less efficient business models, also stifle the innovations that necessarily arise from competition. Just as GM was forced to improve when the more efficient and reliable Japanese brands cut into its comfortable (and taken for granted) market share. Fewer choices in the marketplace equate to lower standards of living.
Tariffs are nothing more than cronyism wrapped in a flag and any benefit to the consumer is incidental.

How were we getting crushed?

Economy has been doing pretty good for 8 years. Unemployment slowly declining for 8 years.

Somebody is working someplace providing goods and services to us and to other countries.

Where do you live that the left encouraged buying from China?

Please give me a link to that campaign.

Your perception is not reality -- lol.

Talk about hypocrisy -- the President of the USA chose to have his products made in China and would have continued if it wasn't for the news media calling out the hypocrisy of his actions.

LOL.......hypocrits -- yeah all shapes and sizes and ideology.
