Cost of living will always go up -- it's the percentage of how it increases.

Tariffs are taxes. To cut corporate taxes and then slap on tariffs -- taxes.

Trump is purposely misleading his base on the facts of international trade.
And on one side of his mouth he is talking about how amazing the economy is doing...and the other side how the USA is being destroyed economically because of tariffs.

And the crowd roars....lol

It has become now a 'thing' -- like the 'lock her up' chant -- it's not about the substance -- it's about the show.

And folks are silly to play into his game just so they can say their team is winning.

Nobody wins.

There is a big difference between China and Europe.

The US exports only $187.5 Billion to China, and there is a massive trade deficit.

In terms of Europe, the US exports totalled $501 Billion nearly three times as much as the US exports to China and the trade deficit is a quarter of that between the US and China.

The bigger the deficit the more leeway you have in a trade war, however in terms of Europe it's not a massive amount and tens of millions of jobs rely on transatlantic trade that amounts to over $1 Trillion every year, with taiffs of only around 3%.

Whilst 3 countries, Germany, Italy and Ireland account for around three quarters of what deficit there is between the US and EU.
