I know that they are skinnier than average. A bit skinny but these woman are hefty. I wonder what the median is. Not the average. You can only go so low and thats a minute segment of the population but 14 seems high.
Granted I've seen a ton of overweights, especially the children. That's the bad part.
It would be interesting for Loft to host a fashion show for "real" women. That is, a variety of sizes and normal clothes that women actually will be wearing in public that season.
Oprah did a show a couple years in a row hosted by Target. Real women, real clothing trends.
Not the stick figures dressed in God knows what that no one will really wear. Or maybe no one outside of LA or NYC will actually wear.
I'm not sure we need a whole fashion show for heavy women.
I'm not sure where those stats of height/weight are coming from - or else, Austin is full of much thinner people than the rest of the US. Which is possible.

Sizes have changed. What used to be a size 12 is now a size 16. That's why there is a size 00 now.
Dress sizes aren't the only thing to change. Both women and men are getting heavier. Nothing wrong with that as long as they stay active and fit for their weight.
I do remember back in the 60's, when Twiggy first hit the runway. Back then the women on those runways were a healthy size, not fat but not ultra skinny either. Seems Twiggy had changed that and we began seeing rail thin models. Maybe it's finally swinging back to the way it used to be... it's about time.

The stats are from the CDC.
Yes, the population of Austin skews thinner than most other places.

"We" don't need a whole fashion show for heavy women.
Ask a heavy woman what she thinks.
