Who is teaching people about forgetting due process?
Due process is a beautiful concept and I support it. I also support a cop's right to defend themselves.
Now before you accuse me of being pro-cop read my many posts in regard to excessive use of force and deaths by cops.
I want an independent federal agency to investigate all cop related shootings. No more self policing. Investigation to be paid for by police agency involved in the shooting.
There are far too many deaths by cops that are questionable and lets face it. Cops don't investigate themselves with the same tenacity as they would a civilian.
You can sit at your keyboard and pretend that you would exhaust every option before shooting, but that is because you aren't the one being shot at or in harms way. There are places in this country that are more dangerous statistically speaking than Iraq and Afghanistan. You couldn't pay me enough to be a cop in those places.
