Would you vote for Political Candidate Senator that was Arrested for DWI, Attempted Forced Entry, and Robbery? (accuse, fence)

I'd say that is impressive for a 5 year old to have dreams of getting into politics, and sticking with those plans 40+ years later.
But tell me, what are your thoughts on the son of a Cuban immigrant named Rafael who adopts the nickname Ted?
According to his book, his parents nicknamed him, " Felito". Variations of the nickname contributed to his lack of popularity in school. At 13, he changed his nickname to Ted which infuriated his father.
I doubt he will as well but it's been really fun watching the left wing wackadoodles get excited about finally getting a candidate within reach of a victory in Texas. The left wing trolling on Cruz's Facebook page has been on a whole different level for months now, they're relentless and equally insane.
Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke of Texas has said that in younger days he was twice arrested in his hometown of El Paso--once, he says, for leaping a campus fence and the other time for driving while intoxicated.
Separately, we ran a background check of O’Rourke using the LexisNexis service. According to the results, O’Rourke’s May 1995 misdemeanor arrest on the UTEP campus was later declined and his September 1998 misdemeanor DWI arrest in El Paso was dismissed.
One of their favorite Senators of all times, Robert Byrd, was a recruiter for the KKK. Apparently everone gets a pass. Who knows if any of the KKK members Byrd recruited were involved with lynching or any other deplorable acts.
But what about a fair-haired Irishman (of no particular Mexican extraction) named O'Rourke who adopts the Hispanic nickname "Beto" for the purpose of becoming a fake Mexican so as to more effectively appeal to a Hispanic electorate in his El Paso congressional district?
These days, such an act of cultural appropriation ought to be worth about 5 years in prison. Or so we are told, anyway.
I'm sure that he was planning his run for office back in kindergarten. Yeah he was know by Beto way back then.
I haven't read the whole thread, but I thought that felons couldn't even VOTE!
But, no, I definitely would not vote for anyone for political office who was convicted of any kind of theft as an adult, unless there was a very good reason for doing so (such as stealing food for a child who would go hungry otherwise). And if a person actually threatened violence in the commission of trying to steal something, that just makes it 100 times worse, imo.
People, in my opinion, are either basically honest when it comes to not taking or (trying to take) something that doesn't belong to them without permission, or they aren't. (And, of course, I am talking about intentional theft and not just absentmindedly 'stealing' a pen from the bank counter after making out a deposit slip, for example.)
