Manafort has suddenly realized his old life is gone. And Trump needs to pardon him, or he talks. Expect a guilty plea, followed by either Trump pardoning him, or him talking. Things are going to happen fast.
That's what is likely to happen.
Avoiding a trial keeps a lot of name out the news.
Trump either pardons Manafort and he walks or Manafort talks.
Will be interesting to see if Manafort withdraws from the joint defense agreement as Flynn and Cohen did.
You have no idea how any of this works do you. Cooperating just means they are answering questions and not pleading the 5th. You don't have to give them anything in return. Innocent people "cooperate" with LE every single day.
You do “give something” by answering questions. It depends on the questions.
Why give him a plea in exchange for nothing? That doesn’t make any sense.

As long as he stays in he is expecting a full pardon. And with it in hand he will flee the country immediately.
You don't think he may be pleading guilty in hopes of speeding things up and getting a pardon earlier? A trial keeps it in the news and hurts Trump. If Trump is already going to pardon, which I feel like he has signaled that he is willing to do, why not save the money of the trial? Also, who knows if Trump will finish the term? Manafort may be thinking he better get that pardon sooner rather than hoping it is there later.
