Other than a brief mention of her being Bill Clinton’s wife, why does Hillary need to be mentioned?

I have to wonder...how many pages in future sociology text books will be devoted to Trump Derangement Syndrome. Mass insanity should make for interesting reading.

No Helen Keller? That's still one thing I remember from waaay back when. Learning about Helen Keller.

JK. I see where she is introduced at the elementary school level - that's fine.

Indeed. Let's not follow Texas. Unfortunately, a lot of textbook companies seem to do just that.

I suppose Davy Crockett and the Alamo are safe for now from historical deletion. What a relief.

It's really too bad that some people want to erase any sort of history--whether it be the founding fathers or Hitlery or Columbus. It's nothing more than a disservice to humanity, in my opinion, and will lead to the type of "history" displayed in the museum scene in Idiocracy.

There is so much to learn and so little time. I'd have kept Helen Keller (but not devote much time to her). Hillary (at this time) is for the most part a current event. Later on down the road I believe some time should be devoted to her.....and it shouldn't be candy-coated!

AUSTIN — History curriculum in Texas remembers the Alamo, but could soon forget Hillary Clinton and Helen Keller.
As part of an effort to "streamline" the social studies curriculum in Texas, the State Board of Education voted on Friday to change what students in every grade are required to learn in the classroom. They approved the removal of several historical figures, including Hillary Clinton and Helen Keller.

Payback for trying to jack with the History of the Alamo!
Any bad news for Hillary Clinton puts a smile on my face, if only for a second or two.

By that link, if you filter by K -12 education, Texas is 11 places higher (33) in education than ever so progressive California (44 of 50).

They would probably be doing her a favor. Her "history" would look more like a rap sheet.

Thankfully, I homeschool my kids, so they learn about all of history, even the parts that aren't my favorite. Revisionism isn't something I would expect a conservative to agree with... weird.
