“People are stressed. And they’re anxious. And it seems that all the chatter and anger on television doesn’t match up to their lives. And it frays our civic trust. And it makes people feel that the game is rigged, and nobody’s looking out for them. And historically, in those kinds of conditions, that’s ripe for opportunists to try to exploit America’s history of division: racial, ethnic, religious.”

Obama went on to say as the November elections near, politicians will pull out the old “playbook” of pitting people against each other.

“In a healthy democracy, when everybody’s participating and paying attention, and listening, voting, people of good will in both parties, they call out bigots and fear mongers,” the former president told the crowd. “And then they work to compromise. And they work to get things done. But, when there’s a vacuum in our democracy, when we don’t vote, when we take our basic rights for granted, other voices fill the void. Demagogues get out there. They promise simple fixes to complicated problems.”

Hilarious

Obama was racially divisive every chance he got. The police were always wrong. It was always whitees fault. White male privilege. He divided this country into near warring factions because it suited him and his outlook on this country.

Those statements by Obama describe himself better than anyone else.

Obama was always pretty good at "pulling out the old playbook."

The solutions is pretty simple-turn off CNN, MSNBC, NBC and the rest of the mainstream media. They have been playing us off against each other and tearing this nation apart for decades. They have become increasingly desperate in the last few years.

Hey Barry, the problems only seem complicated because you're a community organizer.

The Atlanta fed is predicting a 5% third quarter jump in GDP.

Obviously, economic growth north of 3% does not require use of a magic wand.

He's enough to make you sick. And every time he speaks, painful as it is, Democrats will lose a few more votes.

Problem is - the DEms are looking for Obama to bring in some votes - but he's not campaigning hard for them. They would have been better to find a young strong upstart that has charisma - like Obama once had and make them the face of the Democratic party. Then when 2020 comes around they may have a chance in the elections.

I was happy when Obama left office and don't care to hear his rhetoric. He's a legend in his own mind not mine.
