Now Trump is trashing his longtime personal attorney to the press, the press that he hates so much. If this guy was good enough to represent you, and do your dirty deeds, now all of a sudden he is weak and a liar. He have spoken well about this guy before.

And remember, folks. This is just the Russia stuff. What about Trump possibly (probably) breaking campaign finance laws when paying off Stormy.

And what about the investigation into Trump's entire family and the Trump Org, which people close to Trump have said is more of a threat to Donald than Mueller is?

I can't imagine how nervous and frustrated Trump supporters must be at this point. Things are falling apart for Mushroom Don as the walls are closing in.

Falling apart? There's still NOTHING to implicate Trump, and we have a new AG who actually controls what runaway-train Mueller is doing. Don't get overly excited.

Cohen also discussed the Russian deals with Trump family members according to his plea. It is reasonably safe to assume they also lied about that fact. I see the whole bunch going to jail on the family plan.

It certainly is. And now that Trump is running scared, his rabid supporters are the worst inmates in this asylum.

Its only speculation at this point which is the correct term.

The press, as we have seen, is more interested in putting out chicken poop to influence the public.
From Trump's own personal flock of chickens, that are coming home to roost. He's a self-cooking goose.

Default Did Michael Cohen get caught in a "perjury trap"?

Did President Trump's former lawyer Michael Cohen get caught in a Scooter-Libby-style perjury trap?

Cohen just pleaded guilty to accusations that he lied to Federal officials in his testimony. Did he do the same thing that Martha Stewart and Scooter Libby did?

I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby was an official in the GWB administration. Federal officials grilled him over and over concerning the "outing" of FBI agent Valerie Plame, demanded written documents and summaries, etc. Afterward the officials carefully went over the recorded testimony and written documents, looking for inconsistencies. And they found one: Libby had described a meeting one way in one document, but a different way in another. Tuned out the second one was correct and the first one had left stuff out, gotten a timeline wrong. So they announced he had "lied to Congress", since both documents couldn't have been correct.

Didn't matter that Libby had clearly NOT meant to mislead Congress, since he had accurately and correctly described the meeting twice to them. But that first testimony, contradicted the later ones in some minor details... and so he was nailed with "lying to Congress". He lost his business, had his law licnse revoked, and lost his entire life savings defending himself against the charges. Later it came out that Libby had not outed Plame, that had been done by someone else (Richard Armitage).

Did they get Cohen for the same sort of thing? I just heard a news announcer on TV say that she had a statement from Cohen's lawyers, saying that Cohen had been involved in Trump's business negotiating with the Russian govt to build a "Trump Tower" hotel in Moscow. It said that Cohen's accounts of the negotiations were "inconsistent".

There is still a lot of info to be revealed about the details of what Cohen was supposed to have "lied" about. But what we have so far, is strikingly similar to what was done to Libby.

If you always tell the truth, there is no such thing as a perjury trap.

Exactly!.

Why lie about potential real estate deals if you are a real estate developer and if you are a real estate developers former attorney. AND it's was behind a closed door hearing.
