The wealthiest supporter of the GOP in Ohio said Thursday that he is no longer a member of the Republican Party.

"I just decided I'm no longer a Republican," L Brands CEO Leslie Wexner said during a panel discussion at a leadership summit, according to The Columbus Dispatch.

Wexner, who said he's been a Republican since college, added that he is now an independent, before saying that he "won't support this nonsense in the Republican Party" anymore.
Lol...way to go Republicans. Walkaway.

Good riddance. Conservatives need a party that isn't beholden to left-wing money.

Then Trump proceeds to give the "rich globalists" a huge tax break. Yet, you all still support him?

Agreed.

The takeover of the Party by working Americans that started with the Tea Party movement in 2009 should make the corporate-*****-wing/donor-class feel much less at home in our party.

This individual, and others like him, those that want open borders and starvation wages, will find the Democratic Party much more receptive.

That is hilarious! I didn't know the GOP was for a $15 minimum wage also!

A federal minimum wage is nonsensical since different parts of the country have costs of living that vary significantly.

No one living in New York can survive on $15/hr, but in Tennesse, one could live comfortably on the same $15/hr.

In either state, fewer illegal workers translates into higher wages.

This is certainly what has our party defector's panties in a bunch.

It doesn't benefit working Americans to have a corporate tax rate so high that "rich globalists" can't afford to do business here.

The purpose of lowering our 39% corporate tax rate to a level competitive with the European average of 18.35% is to give international corporations the opportunity to profitably do business in the United States.

This wiser strategy will grow the economy, increase the tax base and force employers to compete for American workers by offering increased pay, better benefits and more desirable working conditions.

You don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

Yep. He didn't donate to Trump, who won Ohio by a very, very healthy margin. Big GOP money didn't help Trump to victory in 2016 and it won't be why Trump wins in 2020.
