Inflation vs Wages growing since Obama;
GDP growth that's been flat since Obama

What are these stellar numbers that you're seeing 7 qtrs into the Trump administration?
Thanks for at least TRYING to evaluate these numbers with other than your behind!

If people spent less time berating alternative opinion with stupid comments and just a little time and effort trying to objectively understand what they don't understand about opinions and perspective different from their own, somebody might actually learn something!

I know, I know, a very radical notion for a forum like this one, but we didn't come to understand the Sun does NOT revolve around the Earth by way of shaming and killing those who dared think such a thing, different from the status quot. Of course there were many married to the status quot, intolerant of what they could not understand, and they did their best to keep the truth from seeing the light of day, but the truth emerged eventually anyway, despite all who simply could not get past their preconceived beliefs.

The story of history and a fact of life still today!

And using projections for one qtr in 2018 to claim 4% annual growth? Lol... go somewhere.

Best case scenario, without any of the downward revisions we've had under Trump, we'll end up at ~2.9% GDP growth for 2018. It was 2.2% for 2017 BTW.

Then again, "figures don't lie but liars sure can figure!"

Another BIG problem is that people pick out the statistics of their choice and rather than really consider WHY these numbers are what they are, we simply decide it's thanks to Obama and/or Trump because they are POTUS at the time? This seem intelligent to anyone? Anyone who has taken any basic economics class?

Too bad Trump lacks the competency and integrity that Ike had.
To be fair, hard to argue this is the "entire reason," but I do wonder what is behind much of the sentiments expressed by Trump supporters in this forum. Some have other reasons to have voted for Trump, but others clearly display the sort of disposition you describe in their comments. Those people in particular are an ongoing problem for this country and will be for a long time, digging in their heals and stunting our progress while the world moves on despite their ignorance and best efforts to go back in time, back to the dark ages...

What I really miss is the pre-Reagan America where there wasn't such a heavy expectation of obedience to authority.

Thank goodness Obama is out of office. Take that hope and change and eat it, Iím not buying it.

Atleast Trump tells it like it is. No sugar coating, no sunshine pumping, etc.
You are not really a "black conservative scholar," are you?

Maybe you are black, but scholar? I'm not seeing it...

Instead of throwing out the bums, seems Trump surrounded himself with new ones. Instead of "draining the swamp," we simply got another swamp to contend with, wonder about. A POTUS who instead of explaining why we needed a new health care plan, to cover people with previous conditions, we have a POTUS who explains what women will let you do to them under the right conditions.

Instead of a Noble Peace prize and a world impressed that America would actually elect a black POTUS, we get a wall that Mexico will pay for, and "thousands of Muslims" Trump said were cheering on 9/11. We get the best health care plan ever, never seen. An international trade war and now China cozying up with Russia. Instead of Michelle, we get hanky panky with porn stars and Playboy bunnies and even better, hush money paid in the $100 thousands to keep them quiet.

Not that any of this should have us wonder what else needs to be hushed...

Right, but what about the economy and our 401Ks?

I knew I shouldn't have started this thread, but I do surely miss the good old days before Trump started making America great again...
He is trying to drain the swamp but since they are firmly entrenched in the DOJ, FBI, CIA, DNC and the media, it's really hard to do. The Democrats are obstructing at every turn. What they are doing to stop Kavanaugh is reprehensible. And the majority of Americans think America is now on the right track as opposed the ridiculous priorities of the Obama administration.

Pre LBJ would be better, as government wasn't as much in the social engineering business. He really did a great disservice, economically, to the Black Community except for Congress passing the Civil Rights Act which he did sign, so that was one of the few good things.

What's this? A comment without any substance whatsoever? Great! No doubt we need more of this sort of thing in this forum, in this country...
