Trump is trying to turn this country into a dictatorship and his tweeting is just out of hand I would take Obama for 2 more terms over any republican in a heartbeat.
Excellent points! Trump has made several statements threatening our free press, too. He clearly does not believe in it, but most patriotic Americans do. He is extremely insecure and wants the media to be his personal sycophants. We elected a child in 2016 with raging temper tantrums on display, even often over trivial matters. I have heard the new Bob Woodward book says even his inner circle of advisors is very worried and critical of him. Woodward has a strong reputation of credibility and I will probably read his book soon.

He has now attacked Blasey Ford before her testimony regarding Kavanaugh next week. In the post metoo era, he will certainly not get more than 40% of women's vote in 2020, assuming the Mueller investigation does not prevent that. It will also help if Democrats choose a nominee in 2020 that did not vote for the Iraq War! We can't make that mistake again. That would have brought out more Democratic and Independent voters IMO. (Yes, I do criticize some Democrats when warranted, too. I am not an echo chamber person).

Trump has been about privilege and entitlement going back to the "bone spurs" that allowed him to avoid Vietnam in the 1960's. They did not prevent him from playing golf, though.

Anyone that tries to present the facts or hold him accountable is accused of "TDS" by many of his most outspoken supporters. Yet they won't own up to their own "ODS" when many of them were enthusiastic supporters of "birther" lies about Obama.

He continued to condemn the "Central Park 5" even after law enforcement authorities declared them innocent and falsely accused. He has lusted over his own daughter (on the Howard Stern show, which is on tape and can't be disputed) and we all know about his "you can grab them by the p****" comment (which also can't be disputed). He clearly thinks sexual assault is OK. He was angry that he was caught on tape and deflected to Bill Clinton rather than own up and be a truly apologetic adult. About a dozen women have accused him of sexual assault. I truly feel sorry for anyone that considers him their hero.

Finally, there was his failure to condemn the white supremacists (instead of "both sides") after a woman was killed in Charlottesville and there was his failure to stand firm vs Putin in Helsinki while disrespecting America's serious concerns about their election interference, etc, and a few of our allies. The history books will record his behavior and statements after Charlottesville and in Helsinki as epic fails. He has been weak with Russia and Putin, while disrespecting strong traditional allies like Canada, Britain and Germany. Those relations are much worse now than when he took office in January 2017. He also provided massive tax cuts to the wealthiest 1%. Tariff policy is also a concern. Only the most gullible actually believe Mexico is paying for his wall.

So while pre Trump America was far from perfect, I do miss it.

Trump and Bernie Sanders have raised many valid points. Earlier, any person even discussing such topics used to be brushed aside as Leave the country then, it is supposed to be like this only !!. Now people have got their voice back- be it immigration or health care costs or rising tuition in college or salaries.

Now future aspirants for Presidency will not forget common American people.

I do not miss America before Trump.

At least Bernie is sincere, even if I agree with 5% of his policies.

Trump has been filling the swamp with more swamp creatures and made sure the lion's share of the tax cuts went to corporations and the 1-0.1%

It's as if some of you are still convinced that we were in a recession in 2016 and Trump totally turned it around. No that was 2008 friends and that's the President who turned the worst economic situation since the Depression into a booming economy This took place long before January 2016.

I miss the AMerica from the 80s and early 90s.

After that it all went to hell.

Trump is doing a far cry better job than Obama.

Instead of throwing out the bums, seems Trump surrounded himself with new ones. Instead of "draining the swamp," we simply got another swamp to contend with, wonder about. A POTUS who instead of explaining why we needed a new health care plan, to cover people with previous conditions, we have a POTUS who explains what women will let you do to them under the right conditions.

Instead of a Noble Peace prize and a world impressed that America would actually elect a black POTUS, we get a wall that Mexico will pay for, and "thousands of Muslims" Trump said were cheering on 9/11. We get the best health care plan ever, never seen. An international trade war and now China cozying up with Russia. Instead of Michelle, we get hanky panky with porn stars and Playboy bunnies and even better, hush money paid in the $100 thousands to keep them quiet.

Not that any of this should have us wonder what else needs to be hushed...

Right, but what about the economy and our 401Ks?

I knew I shouldn't have started this thread, but I do surely miss the good old days before Trump started making America great again...

That is absurd.

MAGA!!!!
Again, it's not what but WHY we are experiencing what we are experiencing now. Also WHY we were experiencing so much worse as Obama took office, then better again before he left. Why, why, why!

This is the important question!

The rooster does NOT cause the Sun to rise just because the Sun is rising when the rooster crows!
