Yes, I know, God works in mysterious ways. Ours is not to question his capriciousness in setting people up for certain, unavoidable failure and chucking them into eternal hell fire. He has REASONS for that.

If you told someone who had no idea what creationism or evolution is, they'd tell you both sound ridiculous
You believe evolution postulates that hippos evolved from rocks? Well, that explains a lot.

In our limited and blind understanding of the universe we can't possibly comprehend the nature of any sort of god. It is all mere conjecture that cannot be substantiated.

Man created god to explain the unexplainable. Hell was created as a threat to keep the general population in line and keep the collection plates full. Fire was chosen as the medium because everyone has been burned at one time or another and knows what it feel like. The charlatans who foisted this off on their flocks did what they did to maintain power over them. God was created in the image of man to make it understandable for the illiterate masses who had absolutely no grasp of metaphysics and wouldn't understand any other explanation of anything spiritual.

There have been literally tens of thousands of gods created, and there are currently 5,000 of them fighting for recognition. To listen to the followers of any of them, they have the one true faith and all others are false. Christianity is no exception. Jews, Muslims and Christians share the Abrahamic god, but none of them agree on much of anything after that. You'd think any god worth his salt would have explained what he wanted a little better.

You could stand a remedial course in evolution, BTW.

No one has ever said that a hippo evolved from a rock. You are being ridiculous.

Christianity is a huge exception, in that the only qualification to enter Heaven is to accept you aren't qualified to enter Heaven, and to recognize it's not a works-based salvation 'religion' like every other one on earth that has you work on a scorecard that will be evaluated upon death to see if you're good enough

So you admit that it doesn't matter how one lives their life? That everything that Christ preached about loving one another, and how whatsoever you do to the least of your brothers you do unto me, that was all rot? That all you have to do is prostrate yourself before God in the final moments of your life and what you did every waking minute before that final one matters not in the least?

Wow. Well, good on you for admitting it, anyway.

Time to throw out the 10 Commandments. You have just rendered them moot.

How to get to heaven varies quite a bit depending on which church you go to. Even among the "born again" evangelicals, there's not much agreement on the specifics. In the church I was raised in, salvation itself wasn't works-based but keeping the rules was required after salvation. If you did not keep them you could fall away and lose your salvation. I seriously doubt even you believe that a person can do whatever they want and call themselves Christian. Even if you believe once-saved-always-saved, you probably believe that keeping the rules is necessary to show your salvation and if you don't keep the rules, you probably were never saved to begin with.

See there is your problem, your under the belief that God controls good and evil or plays a controlling supervisory role in our daily lives. He created mankind, he created the garden for them to live in reign. There was no danger or cruelty there. Like our children often do, exercising their freewill, man chose to follow temptation and follow selfish desires instead of trusting his father and was cast out into a hazardous environment. He tried to prepare them according to the Apocrypha books of Adam and Eve. The relationship between God and mankind is often likened to that of parent and child.

Except, the Bible is about an evil God who kills millions just because he can and many of those are children. Of course it is a work of fiction about a serial killer.
